    If there is a wire from solenoid to one terminal on a coil it is likely a coil with internal resistor.----Measure voltage at the coil with ignition turned to " on " and that will tell you the story.

    Check the flywheel key first.----Then post your compression numbers.----Then see if spark jumps a gap of 3/8" or more on each lead.

    Well----I do not believe anything is missing at all !!!!.------That might be a provision for a temperature gauge sending unit.----I would say the CROWLEY folks would know that.

    Correct , they likely installed new screws that use 0-rings.----I prefer the nylon washers myself.

    The 79 model 85 HPmotor has a magneto system.---It uses sensors and no breaker points.

    The idea is clear.----The 79 model 85 does not have breaker points.------The kill switch connects the 2 " M " terminals to stop the motor.

    When key is turned to OFF----The 2 " m " terminals are connected.----When your kill switch / lanyard is activated the 2 wires on it would connect the 2 " m " terminals.----Not much to it really.

    You would have put in 4 gallons of concentrate and 3-1/2 of water.----Total is 7.5 gallons.----Me thinks it is 53.333333 % mixture now.

    Looking at this Chieftain 21ft, what questions should I ask?

    Aluminum boats in big waves flex more than you would think.------Leads to loose rivets.----Make sure main bilge pump is good.-----You might install a back up pump too.
