    Over time oxides will accumulate on the breaker points.----Many oxides do not conduct.----Cleaning will restore spark on these simple magnetos.----Much better for those that want to learn simple repair / maintenance.----Others want modern stuff that can only be maintained with an empty wallet...

    They are not original.------They are very good replacement coils.----Every one of those magnetos from 1950 to 1976 has had the coils replaced.

    Sorry----There are no shims required in many Johnson / Evinrude gearcases,----For example a 1996 30 HP.----No shims listed anywhere in the parts book !!!

    Not much can go wrong with the seat.-----Sierra kit is complete fix for the carburetor.
