    It should go to 12V (on green wire), so either bad diode, alternator output not working, or bad wire connection The diode is inline with the Green wire

    Find out if the gauge is accurate. Get an IR temp gun and measure the thermostat housing to see if gauge shows the same.

    A connection needs to be their to be able get the drive back into neutral when on the water. It not being there should not have caused the high idle. Disconnect the throttle cable at the carb and see if it idles down, or it can be adjusted to idle down

    Might be gimbal or U joints. Pull the drive and connect a hose to the thermostat housing so it can be run without the drive

    The one beep is a soft alarm. Most alarms are constant or 2 beeps There are a bunch for 2 beeps, but even a soft alarm should show a code Check the 5V reference (like at the MAP) to see if its a bit off from 5V

    A 1987 350 used TB4 ignition. With the TB4 the shift interrupter grounded one lead on the distributor. To use the EST the switch needs to apply 12V and not a ground. Did you change the setup?

    I'm thinking a carb issue. Starts when its cold and on trailer (no load). In the water it needs a different fuel mix, bit more. Unless spark is stopping, then its fuel. Boat being on the trailer and after its warmed up. If the motor is shut off will it restart?

    Have great spark and it won't even hit with either, just cannot believe that. The gas and either must be water How did you test for spark, and was it white or blue?
