    the one pic looks like your idler spacer is mounted wrong. the grease coming out of the idler is an indication it is going south.

    I generally run the boat in spring without the drive for first fire up.... Because the drive is usually off for maintenance over the winter. Ya all should be doing similar if you follow the annual maintenance schedule The dumb stuff @achris is talking about comes later

    the OMC 800 and the SX are about as far apart as a steam engine and a jet engine with respect to technology, etc. the only thing that is common between the two would potentially be the oil and maybe the aluminum alloy. not anything else. short of a welder, no way to make the parts stick...

    NO that puts thousands of pounds on your boat hull and trailer that will break things. not to mention it will get water into areas that water wont come out of. use a flashlight and look.

    tape off what you dont want the 5200 to get on. if the area is exposed to sunlight, use 3M 4000 UV

    and 1-2 sheets for the transom. remember, the order of rot. Transom first, Stringers next, foam gets saturated, then the floor rots.

    its an inverted flare fitting. if its leaking, either the tube flare is bad, or the inlet fitting in the carb is bad. easy fix, either replace the tube nut and re-flare the end, or replace the inlet fitting. THERE IS NO SEALANT OR SEALING WASHER.

    well, the drive has to come apart. someone removed the "do-not-remove" screw and put in a drain plug.
