    The 5.7 will bolt right up. Get a 1995 or newer vortec long block. Carb is probably fine but would check the plugs a few times after running WOT to see if your running lean. Being your 20 ft you won't have a hp plate

    Use a small propane torch (don't light it) and move it around the intake a TB base plate. If it starts to change the idle then you found the leak. Can also use WD40 of other things, even water squiring on places

    Haven't worked on a Alpha in many years, just Bravo for me. You need manual 6 before starting. Without the manual things can go wrong. The list of tools for the lower is called for, but some may be able to use others. Someone like @Bondo or @Bt Doctur can advise better
