    The hole in the cap is there to release the pressure in a controlled manner when you loosen the cap.----It should not be covered.

    It will take a 25" motor referred to as EXTRA LONGSHAFT on this set-up.

    Measure the height of your transom.-----If it is 20" high then the motor is considered to be a long shaft.----A 25" motor is extra long shaft.

    Floats control fuel level with a needle / in a brass fitting.----Called a float valve.-----Jets meter fuel into the airstream going through the carburetor.----When you spray fuel into a carburetor the motor MUST respond somehow.

    What do you mean by---" floats won't hit the jets "----Have you done a compression test ?----Do you have spark on all leads ?

    There may be a nylon bushing at the top and bottom.----Lift the gear art top.---Smear some grease.---Grease will work it's way in.----Lay motor on it's side and spray some lube near bottom.

    Maybe I missed it.----What are the compression numbers.----If idle won't come down you need to adjust trunnion on cable.----Or the cable is broken.

    What trouble shooting has been done if any.-----Was the fuel pump tested BEFORE it was replaced ?---Pressure regulator.----Lift pump ? ---Oil pressure ----Etc , etc.----Some times a trip to a SUZUKI dealer might save you some beer tokens.
