    Lots of water in the oil means just one thing.-----Lower unit needs a seal kit.----Simple , " pay me now or pay me later " scenario.

    That is a safety switch and not a condenser.----Shuts motor off should you hit a log and motor jumps out of the water.------No need to post pictures of that bad wire , most have seen many examples of bad wiring on this era of Mercury products.

    Not a ----SUZUKI ----Built motor either !!-----And JOHNSON marketed small 4 strokes built by SUZUKI from 2002 and on for a few years.----I do not believe EVINRUDE marketed small ( 9,9 / 15 HP ) 4 strokes built by SUZUKI.

    Some will argue.----How much water was in there ?-------If there was a lot of water then the gearcase needs to come apart for inspection of the bearings , shafts and gears.----Or run it till it goes ---" boom "---I guess.

    Stuck water impeller stuck

    It is jammed on the plastic wedge perhaps.----Use a wood dowel and hammer and see if you can bump it in both direction to loosen it.

    Key should be pushed in while cranking on cold start.------No it should not increase in revs up like that on start-up.----I would take the head off for a look see inside the motor.-----In the big picture a head gasket is cheap.

    The prop that shows up ( picture ) on this website is a through hub exhaust.----Not a pin drive either.-----There is no way you should be putting a 9" diameter prop on this motor.-----Hurry find a boat shop for some old time factual help.

    Don't buy a prop for your motor through this website.-----The listing for 40 HP 1960 to 1976 shows totally wrong prop !!!----40 uses same prop as the 28 HP.
