    you sure your boat is weighing in at 2400? did you put it on a scale? are you trimming out the drive? dry weight on your boat is 2260, not including fuel or you. full of fuel and you and you are pushing 2620 and that is assuming no gear.

    15" should be good to go. you are measuring to the bottom of the elbow bend, and not the top of the riser, correct?

    first, measure your SWL to riser height. second, like AD stated, if you were up on plane and you hydrolocked, your cylinder walls would have grenaded and you would have bent a connecting rod. so that did not happen third, pressure test the cooling water jacket. it could be something else...

    if you have power to the dash, start at the key switch and work your way back thru the MOB switch and neutral safety switch check the trapezoidal shaped plug. the connectors come loose.

    You can tap all you want, doesnt mean a thing until the wet abd rotting wood has been eaten by insects and leaves a void Only way to tell. Drill into the stringers and transom. If the shavings come out dry and light colored and smell like fresh cut wood, you are good If the shavings come out...

    a running Vortec long-block in a truck from a salvage yard is $250 I suggest you buy that and simply swap head gaskets and core plugs.

    unless you modified the motor for more RPM's or more power, a standard 460 truck oil pump is fine. I suggest a melling. however the mechanical oil pumps them selves normally do not go bad. you may simply have a bad pickup or a stuck PRV

    you didnt read the link I posted in post #11, did you? no way to convert the flat tappet motor you have to the roller you want short of this only 3-step method: step 1 - sell what you have for a small pile of cash step 2 - empty contents of wallet, bank account, etc onto small pile of cash...
