    Well, your cap is pretty rough looking. I’d replace that. All the ones I’ve worked on had a small plug that you had to take out on that raised area to burb any remaining air out of the tank. In my opinion, poor design. If it wasn’t burped the set would shut down.

    Those bearings are not true sealed bearings. A true sealed bearing has a rubber lip on the inner race area.     By shoving a small hose onto a bigger fitting you may have peeled the inner part of the hose into the fuel system. Pieces of rubber have plugged it.

    I burnt up my impeller and housing last year running on the hose out at my cabin. At home the water pressure is better and no issues. You should check the impeller again.

    Always check the gap. Those or any plugs can fit several different engines. How does the factory know what you are putting them in?

    Sealant Around Center Console

    If the dealer does fix it, make sure they don't just lay another bead of caulk around the edges. The proper fix is to unbolt the unit, raise it up a couple inches and put the sealant under the flange. When they drop it back down clean up the excess squeeze out.
