    Recommendations for cleaning bilge?

It’s a good idea to put an oil sorb pad in the bilge regardless if there are spills or not. But yeah Citris clean works well also and smells good.

Never saw that but I'm in fresh water area also. But perhaps there are only brake shoes on one wheel on each side?

OMC 5.0 wont stay primed after new seperator. PLEASE HELP

The anti syphon valve is on the fuel tank, where the fuel line hooks to the tank. It basicly looks like a hose nipple but it has a check valve in it to prevent the fuel from syphoning if there is a leak. Do not disguard it, it's a coast guard regulation to have it. Either clean it or replace it.

    Shifting very difficult

On the lower the bronze shift dog will get bent if not in fwd gear. Seen it happen before. You will need a new part, split the lower to put it in.

    Winch Strap longevity

The synthetic type of rope is really nice to use. I personally haven’t bought it but have used it a few times on customers boats. It’s strong and wear resistant. Wish knew the brand but I don’t.

    Question about battery post connections

I hate those things. It's just another connection for corrosion. Easy enough to change the cable ends to the proper clamp.

Always wrap a towel over the end of whatever you are pushing out with air. Whether it be a ram, brake puck or valve of sorts.

    Outdrive corrosion?

I'm not seeing the anodes in the pic. And the rusty cotter pin on the prop should be stainless.

    Question about battery post connections

Yeah, all the new batteries we get now are nuts only. Even the smaller batteries. A few years ago they came with wing nuts.

    Question about battery post connections

On a small boat, wing nuts may work ok, but I’ve seen/worked on several boats with more than three 8-d batteries with wing nuts. The amperage running through those type of connections can heat up rather quickly. That is why ABYC don’t allow them anymore, including smaller batteries. And no more...

    Question about battery post connections

Yeah, no wing nuts and preferably by lock nuts. Don’t gorilla them so tight. Just a bit after snug.

    Modern Engine Thoughts

Looks like we are at a standstill. Let’s just say that it’s all about a persons individual preference. Like 2 strokes? Get one. Like 4 strokes? Get one. I’m 60-70% 2 stroke, 30-40% 4 stroke myself, in other words, I’m on the fence a bit. Time will tell me when I have to make a decision.

Fitting my Bunks to my boat

Pictures please. In my opinion, all the bunks should touch the hull, the shorter ones can be trimmed to fit or moved to where they need to be.
