    Manual fuel pump restrictions?

We were not getting fuel to pump. We believe we have it all corrected now, but I want to be sure the fuel draw length will not be an issue later on. We will check for inline filters today. Just to be sure....

    Manual fuel pump restrictions?

Thanks to all. I will examine for additional inline filters!!! Their addition would seem to be too redundant, but I am not a marine engineer. The pickup tube screens have been removed. I discovered that potential problem. 2' is vertical DROP (best that I can tell) from fuel separator to FP...

    Manual fuel pump restrictions?

I have about a 2' foot vertical drop from my fuel tank to Chevy 350 with manual fuel pump. However, the horizontal length of the line is about 6'. Fuel comes from tank into a tank selector switch manifold and into a water/fuel separator. From there it goes to fuel pump. Is this horizontal length...

    Troubleshooting stiff throttle

Buy lots of brake cleaner and a large flat pan and start cleaning. At least eliminate all the old grease that has gotten hard. MC makes a special Teflon grease. Use it.

Alpha gen 1 shift cable adjustment.. cannot get reverse.

I don't know how you could do that. It'd take too long for WD40 or any solvent to work its way through shift cable. Mine is 15 feet. I'd love to know how. My helm's shifter linkage was full of harden grease after boat set for almost 4 years. I was having a similar problem to above. I could not...

Alpha gen 1 shift cable adjustment.. cannot get reverse.

You may have already done this, but disconnect one piece at a time at your control linkage to determine if cable is binding, where it is binding, or your problem is in your OD. Grease gets hard over time.

Base timing on TB5 350 V8 Carbureted with knock Sensor???

My Selock manual is as useless as tits on a frog. I timed these motors years ago but have forgot which wires to disconnect at distributor. I did some motor work and have to reset timing. I believe I must disconnect knock sensor, but my old memory keeps telling me that I need to disconnect...

    Trim Limit and Sender Help

I've seen boaters drill holes just above transom assemby to push wires in and connect to wiring harness. Use 5200 to seal wires going through transom. It may look like crap to others, but it works and easy to replace wires/senders, if needed later on

    Trim Limit and Sender Help

If ripped out, I suspect you will have to remove OD and install new sender/switches. That will cause you to curse a LOT. A nightmare to access...

    Terribly stoopid question

My MC's opposite rotation is in OD, not motor. However, my MC manual displays 350 Chevy motor with same firing order but #1 is where #6 is located. I don't know why MC did this unless distributor body bumped up against something if it were located where GM says it is supposed to be. My Chevy...

    Terribly stoopid question

I owned an old Penn Yann whose opposite rotation was in the 351 Windsor Ford stb motor. A nightmare!

    Coast Guard Requirements

42 months... I visited WM today and purchased flare requirements. I examined dates on new flares to have about 39 months left before expiration. I could have found them cheaper online but no guaranteed expiration date.

Is this trim end cap usable?

I rebuilt 4 of mine. Similar corrosion as yours. I had to replace one cap at about 50 bucks. Only because I had to heat and beat it out of ram tube. I made my own spanner wrench after seeing what MC wanted for a new one. . If my memory is correct, the scrapper and seals were inside of cap and...
