    i have a 90;s 40hp evinrude carbs have a black plastic top. When i pump the bulb, gas shoots directly out of the vent in the black plastic, the lower one does not.whats up? thanks guys

    2001 150hp mercury

    this motor starts,idles,runs perfectly. After running 30 minutes or so engine dies.Will not start without fast idle wide open. Try to pull back on the gas it goes dead. Like it will not run when motor warms up.any ideas greatly appreciated. thanks guys

    77s model 15hp evinrude

    It starts rite up, runs great for a few minutes, then goes dead. Then it will not start at all. Plugs fire 1/2 inch. after cooling or waiting a while, it will start instantly. runs goes dead again. So it always has fire and fuel. I don't know???? Any ideas or answers greatly appreciated...

    yes i have had a time replacing wires, this ign wire is the last hurdle, I have spent hours looking at wire diagrams.cant make heads or tails of these 1970s diagrams.I think that surely there is a common connection for all these old motors. Thanks

    Oh no, i fill the lower unit, I have taken the lower unit off. It seems the shifter seals are leaking. So now the only problem is the holes, Should the holes use a plug or screws? The diagrams do not show anything

    I am putting lower unit back together. Everythings good until getting shift rod linkage to line up in the cradle.Spent 2 days tryin, there has got to be a way, I just do not know how! Please help

    no i do not have a camera. the hole is barely smaller than the fill screws. and are on both sides, like you can put a long screw in one side and out the other there must be some kind of plug for these 2 holes

    This motor is leaking oil from what i thought was a vent hole.The hole is located beside the oil level hole. When i fill the unit, oil comes out immediately . I guess it must be a seal? thanks guys
