    1974 was running perfect, start rite up and all of a sudden it will not hit a lick. Even with starting fluid nothing. I am getting a spark to the plugs, it may be a little weak spark. but shouldn't it do something with starter fluid. what should I try?? any ideas appreciated because I am lost...

    This is a tiller handle I cannot find a choke.Is it possible that there is no choke. Motor is hard to start with no choke.Can someone tell me where it may be?? any help greatly appreciated.

    water leaking out sparkplug 1987 35 mercury

    Somehow water is getting into cylinder, I pulled the plate and gasket looks new. Is there any other way water could get into cylinder? I do not know how water comes out with the plug down tight. And the motor runs perfectly!! Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

    evinrude wire colors

    I have a 1975 25hp I am trying to connect to a red plug harness.to red, black, white,and green only these 4 wires on the motor harness. So red is hot and black ground, what would i connect the white and green wires to? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

    My motor starts fast, but goes dead like running out of gas. Carb has been cleaned, new fuel lines, new fuel pump.Primer bulb stays hard, I don't think there is a air leak or gas leak.     1995 evinrude turns over to slow 50hp

    1995 evinrude 50hp hardly turns over. I have changed starters. new battery cables", heavy"cables new battery, high cold amps. When I remove plugs it spins super fast. I have good ground and heavy hot cables. This is all I know to do. Any advice greatly appreciated thanks guys

    I just purchased 1988 40hp johnson with a top end knock. I pulled the pistons and everything looks great. Rods, bearings, and crank look excellent. I put everything back and turn the flywheel, It turns smooth until the top cylinder gets to the top and has a hard spot. I think the knock happens...

    1990 johnson 28hp will not throttle up

    starts right up idles perfect, goes good at slower speeds. When I try to take off it will go for a second, then goes dead. It will start rite back up, just will not take off. I have taken this carb off and cleaned 3 times, no good. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. thanks

    1996 35hp mercury dies out at top end

    Running wide open, it will die out, If I quickly pull back to idel I can keep it running. When it does die, it will start rite up. The only trouble at all is when running full speed. I did put a new fuel line and bulb, did not help. Any suggestions greatly appreciated

    1974 15hp evinrude very little spark

    So I pulled the flywheel and everything looks new.Sometime it will start and run for maybe 5 seconds and quit. This is my first old points motor and I just do not know where to go from here. The spark is very little. Could it be the coils? Both plugs little spark. Any suggestions, thanks

    Choke cylinder with a valve stem Johnson 28 special

    I have a 90,s model Johnson. The choke cylinoid does not work, it clicks like it should, but no gas. This cylinder has something I have never seen. , there is a valve stem with the red arrow. Does anyone have an idea what the stem is for, Thanks guys
