Great grab for $1300

I see a windshield & maybe some bow rails headed for the CL parts & pcs for SC's thread. Probably more.....

Excellent score.

Wicked good deal Cat, looking forward to watching this project.

Thanks Glen; Am very excited to complete her. Am going to shift gears however, as our boating & fishing season is not too much longer than yours. Going to be scouring post for any & all projects involving changing from omc to mercruiser.:high5:

Well guys; Got bait ponds stocked up & some much needed R&R. Was chomping the bit to get back to project. Got donor boat tarped, and moved to yougest sons house. ( He has 4 trash dumpsters) Took inventory of stuff to list on C/L; so can build my boating bank up.
Have been trying to sort out the trailer under my Islander. It says Sterling on name plate, but its built like a Calkins? It is built rock solid, but oh how wish it had 2 axles,! Well back at it.

Well guys making progress slow but sure. After got the donor boat moved and tarped; got news my best friend had passed. So glad got to vist with him this winter in Az. Jim Green was paying it forward long before there was a movie about it. He is the person that taught me how to fish for Flathead cats & sold me the Catfish Hunter for his cost. Sleep well my friend, I know you are shareing fishing stories with Peter.
Back to subject, got the Catfish hunter out& woke up. And got the OMC 140 h/p unloaded from Big Red. Took a couple pics so could show Jas had taught mine how to fly too.:thumb:20130620_141758.jpg20130620_141820.jpg
Got some goodies for trailer.20130621_132730.jpg20130621_133026.jpg20130621_132909.jpg
Going to put load range D tires on trailer since have only 2. Would put L/R-E on, but would have to change brake calipers to 6 stud to get full benefit. What do you all think?

Not a whole lot to report. Ordered a semi cutom cover for my Islander. Will post pics when it arrives and git er on. Just plugging away slow but sure. Had to move her to cousins house, otherwise the warden was fixing to go on war path. Sure miss having her rt.out the door. Still trying to figure in my noodle which road to take with trailer?:neglected:

Sorry about your BF, cat. And the move.

Such a pretty sight - Flying Stringers. :) Don't know if I would trust one for real airborne activities though.

Who knew OMC Stringers would be so good a flight?!

Nice man:joyous:

That is for sure. Too my way of thinking eventually all omc stringers are going to have to learn how to fly.

Thank you GA_; Keeping busy seems to be the best medicine.
Yes it is a pretty sight. Am certain I would not trust either.;)

Went over yesterday and took center section of deck up, it is held down with screws, so could ck. fuel tank out. Good news, bad news situation. Good news it has a heavy gauge aluminium 44 gallon tank. Bad news deck wood is toast. Will take some photos of it tomorrow. Was studying on buying another donor boat for its dual axle trailer, s/s bow rails, & full swim platform. Decided to wait a bit, so warden can cool of some more.

Took awile, but here are pics. of center section. I have resigned myself will not splash this year. When get big red running again, taking Islander to my daughter's house. There my grandsons will help me & can spend some quality time with my Angel & her family. Going to replace deck from cabin back to transom. Not sure how am going to deal with transom yet. It is solid, but that big ole hole??:noidea:20130715_201319.jpg20130715_201352.jpg

Sorry to hear about your BF Cat. You will end up having to pull the wood out of the transom and replacing it so you can get the key hole right for the Mercruiser.

Thank you Glen; I guess knew that, just needed to be told.
Have 2 new 8 pr tires on the way, plus 2 new rims. Will post pictures of them when they arrive. Thank you again for your condolences for my BF.

Port side starboard side, and the last pic was from inside when noticed 2 small holes. To say was upset would be a gross understatement. For 300$ I do not expect quality, I demand it! :)

Did you get anywhere with the boat cover? I wouldn't be happy either. Glad the truck wheels are turning again. :)

Cat too make your cover last much longer, purchase a couple pool noodles split them length ways down one side and then slide them over the top of the windshield frame to act as a cushion for the cover.

No, am having a problem communicating to seller there is no way to send my pics thru reg. channels. Think am going to get paypal involved.
Am sure happy to have big red purring again, hopefully can get some fishing in before that nasty ole winter gets here.:joyous:
