Holy smokes, now where have I heard that statement before:confused:

Oh yah, I remember now. I have lived the dream! Been there, done that, bought the tshirt!

Stinkin funny:)

I hear ya there Jason, is now an owner of said tshirt as well:D:D

I do wish that I had had a video camera, cause I was cracking up and she was so stinking serious. At first she did not think it was so funny, but she came around after a while.

BTW, salmon fishing really stinks right now and they close it tomorrow:mad:. Not even going out today, only know of 2 fish caught yesterday in the area and that was not good. They opened the season early and now are closing it before the salmon are even really running. Lots and lots of people around here are very angry with the fish and game in both Washington and Oregon due to this.

I love a good glasser salvage operation, excellent work Kelly:D

For $100 you are way ahead of the game on that deal, and I hope that 140 is as good as she sounds.

The fuel tank might be in great shape, good luck finding it:)

Kelly Its all about Politics. and big rep. from Commercial and tribal fisherys. I still think half of a closed season for lack of harvestable fish is 0 and thats all that tribal should get but everyone just look at the continued fishing they do and the incidential catch is what they realy go after. The tribe's in our area gut the fish take the eggs sell to a caviar buyer and let the fish float down stream. Even during a closed season. You know what they are doing to the Sturgon as well as the Dam seals. Sure not going to run ot of them even if they dispatch them at the Dalls dam. Ops better stop this as the blood presure is rising again. Pugetsound.

So with careful consideration I decided not to fix the apallo and use it for the parts that I need for the Islander.

And the fun begins.:D

And after a while I have something that looks like this.

Now really glad that I decided not to repair bellows and gimble bearing on this rig:facepalm:

And now even happier that the repair was not done:eek:.

And the guy thought he had a good hull, or so he said anyway. I could not see anywhere on the transom where someone had checked to see if it was bad. I just started poking around with a screwdriver and found all that mulch. Engine is ready to come out, just ran out of daylight yesterday. So next weekend the engine will be coming out after my trip to the freaking dentist again:facepalm:.

My 3 best friends yesterday, would hate to do this without them.

Oh yea, I love that thing. The grinder makes cutting thought rubber and aluminum rub rails rather easy as well, does not mess up the sawsall blade as fast that way. And the impact gun, oh yea baby. Those bolts on motor mount and the tie down loops in the back were a pita without it.

Still need to get the windshield off and the instrument panel out and the gas tank out as well. Might have to open up the front deck to get the tank out but don't know as of yet. And since it is sitting nose down in my stupid slanting driveway I am going to drill some holes in the keel so that the water will drain out. Don't want it to get to heavy sitting on the tongue jack, and it has been raining on and off here since I got the boat. So I am sure that there is water starting to build up in the bow that I cannot see.

Dentist???? I go to Vancouver Canada for all my Dental work. Just about one third of price here in USA. I only live 50 miles from the Border and Surry outside of Vancouver is only 12 miles to drive there from the Border.

Yea still trying to get a crown on, this will be my 3rd visit for the same tooth:facepalm:. And now they might have to pull one of my other crowns to work on that tooth:eek:. Wish I was closer up there bud, I would do the same thing and go to Canada to get it done. I have heard that it is a ton cheaper. With a root canal and a crown it is right at $2K to get done. I do have good insurance though:)

So, on the pic below. Once I loosen and remove nut A from tube C, should cable B just pull out of tube C? Yes it is for the steering and the connecting bar is removed from the other end. Just asking cause I used a persuader:eek: to remove the cable from the tube and I don't remember having that big of an issue with the steering on the Islander.

Well it has been raining pretty much all the time since I brought home that Apallo and it is sitting bow down in my driveway, driveway is slopped down and really sucks. Anyway I was wondering how I was going to get the water out of the boat, I had noticed that there was water dripping from the bow eye. Well I figured it out and it was easy.

The water ran out of those holes for well over an hour. And at first I thought I had drilled into the gas tank, the water was kind of the color of gas and when I touched it and smelled it I could smell gas:eek:. Then I remembered that I got gas on my gloves when I undid the gas line:facepalm:.

Well had to go to the dentist first thing this morning and get my permanent crown put on. Then came home and took a nap, man I feel I am getting old as I really look forward to the naps on days off:facepalm:. Anyway I got up and thought I should do something today as it was halfway nice for a change. So I did get busy, love my sawzall.

YES YES that's what I would have done.. Isn't it great to just drill holes in a boat to remove water.

That Motor and drive look really clean. Was it that way or did you power wash it. Hope it runs ok you can do it without being in the boat so that's a BIG plus. Test everything before you install it. Great fun just to tear the hell out of a boat.

You might be happy to get some $ back by selling everything possible off of the donor.

Yea I am going to try and get the rest of the stuff off the boat tomorrow, it is supposed to be nice:confused: Am hoping that I can get some money for that trailer, it should hold bout a 20-21 footer. this one is 17 feet long and is a roller trailer

The motor and drive are very clean for a 77 boat, nope did not power wash them either. That will be for another day. Yea I am hoping that it will run ok as well. It did just come back from a mechanic and tags on both outdrive and motor saying serviced. Yea I plan on starting it on the floor before putting it in the boat and testing anything else that I can before installing. And yes I did have a GREAT time tearing that thing apart. Found bad spot in the floor as well now. Hey I know we could give it to oops and see if he can put her back together:eek:. I still have all the parts. Still can't believe that the guys was seriously trying to get this thing back into the water, it would not have been to long before something really bad happen. The only thing holding the transom together was the glass.

Engine is out! Great work Kelly! Now, get that rotted out glasser off the trailer, sell it, along with the windshield and such, and make some money. Nice!
