Thank all of you for the BD wishes...I hope to have the drywall completely hung by the weekend...then I can get back on the Ebko!

of course I still have the mud and sanding and painting to do, but I can do that in phases....

Troop, Use a 4" knife, the first day to apply the mud and tape (go easy on the mud), a 6" on day 2 and a 10" on day 3 and you won't have much sanding. Buy one of these. Thin the mud a bit when applying the tape. Most common mistake by beginners is they try and cover the tape with mud the after they bed it. Don't do that. Once it's bedded in the base coat of mud, leave it till the next day or at least till that evening, unless you use the quick set mud. Most important is to remember that this is a 3 Day ( unless you use the quick set mud) job so you don't have to be perfect on day one. Also remember the smoother you leave it the less sanding there is. Don't Over work it. It's kinda like CSM, once it's down, clear and flat LEAVE IT ALONE!!! If you've done drywall before then tell me to bug off!!!

Wood is spot on with thinning the tape mud with a little water . You will pull most of the mud out when you wipe it flat . I like using a 6" to tape ,8" to bed , and a 10 on factory tapered joints ,12 on butt joints . You can use mesh tape if you want to tape and bed at the same time . But mesh tape on inside corners don,t work . I would skip the quick set mud unless you need to fill a large hole . One thing quick set is good for is to bed in one side of your inside corners . Unless you have one of those fancy shmancy butterfly knives you need one side dry before you pull the other side of your corners . ;)

Great weekend!

Was working on the walls and found this under my tool chest...

Date the garage was built I'm guessing...

That's a Nevada quarter...the Silver state...hmmm previous owners were into treasure hunting...think it could be a hint?

That's drywall everywhere...

except the door way...I have a plan for this area...

still working on a plan for this area...the heater is too close to the wall :(

Uhhmm The quarter kinda looks like it,s marking something ! Is it embedded in the concrete ?
I would grab the concrete saw and see what,s under there . The worst that could happen would be a cut water supply or conduit .
But I,m thinking buried treasure !! :faint2::whoo::bounce::tongue1:
Rock hanging looks great Troop !

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

Thanks one and all...I already covered the quarter SP...

I have noticed a big difference in the heat holding ability of the garage...once I get the big doors properly sealing...should stay nice and toasty...and seeing that I now live in the ever lasting winter in NE PA...gona need it...3-7" of snow tonight...followed with freezing rain in the morning....does spring ever happen around here :(....

Rocking looks awesome, once you get all the tweaks done, it should definitely stay nice and toasty...

BTW, I think all that snow and cold weather has to do something with global warming...:whistle:

Oh Yeah and clear out your inbox...;)
