Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

And Miss being on here and able to give some good progress reports....I feel out of place just giving blog updates....seein there are some on here that dont like that sort of thing....soon...I promise...soon...send some warm air this way will ya?

Troop, you get a pass with tryin to settle into a new house and all! I for one have enjoyed the boat cave updates as much as the boat updates because you're makin it right like the boat to continue on.

Believe me, I'll feel your pain soon enough. Don't feel like you're letting anyone down settling your new workshop to get some serious Ebko refab work done in the future.

Look on the bright side your sanding dry wall where as I'm digging up my septic tank. Mind you however I'm not actually digging through solid brick but merely red clay. Keep up the good work Trooper it'll all get done with time.

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

I did,t mention it about my daughters wedding but since KFG reminded me the day of the wedding like a few hour before the ceremony. I started to smell something really rank ! My son was raking leaves up on the drain field and yelled " dad ya better look at this " ! Yep with the reception area just down wind I had a drainfield failure !!:faint2::jaw::puke: They were using a lot of water inside so every time the sump pump came on it would spew out stinky water . What do I do ! What do I do ! This will ruin the wedding ! The hamster running dbl time ..... Got it just turn the breaker to the pump off till everyone is gone ... Seems when they installed the drainfield 18 years ago they damaged the top of the plenum box and the roots do what roots do . Was able to dig it up luckily get it unclogged and repaired . Good for another 10 or 15 yrs hopefully ..;)

Still need to finish the windows, area around the circuit breaker box and behind the heater...maybe this weekend I can get all that done...

I tried my darndest to get the mud done tonight, but I can hardly hold my arms up over my head anymore tonight...my shoulder feels almost like it did when I tore my rotator cuff...I'll finish tomorrow...

Hope everyone has a quick week...and if you are on Easter break it goes slow :)

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

Great looking D/W

You might want to wait a while to finish the window jambs. Depending on the quality of the window, all the new insulation & heating may cause the windows to sweat. Using wood or pre-mix D/W mud may not hold up as well as you'd like.... Might use quick set mix mud.

If you're quick w/ a mixer & the application of mud, you might try the 30min. But unless you're really good & fairly quick, I'd avoid the 15min... The quick set mix mud holds up MUCH better.

If you've got good windows & insulated the jambs, you likely won't get much if any window sweat...

Nothing like new drywall to cover up all the ugly . Makes the place seem much cleaner and brighter .. Nice job Troop ! Now let those shoulders rest ya still have to sand the ceiling .. Do you have a sand pole ? Get it all sanded and primed . Touch up , spot prime , and finish paint ...
