Oh, I thought it was on both sides. I've seen the bow section like that on several boats. Hmmm... Velly Intellesting!!!!!! I guess I'd prolly filled it to make it uniform on both sides then.

Tried to get a reflective ic of the area talked about above...this also shows what all I got done tonight...the right side as pictured is higher...and the strakes do not go all the way to the point of the bow... I have always noticed this but have not had a reason to say anything till now...

Red ovals show the places I am talking about...

I noticed similar discrepancies on my hull...sort of a misalignment in the hull molds...even though it looks weird, I don't really think it makes that much of a performance or handling difference...it might around 100-140 MPH...maybe......

Looking real good!

I think the areas that you marked reinforced WOG's suggestion that it's factory. And helps prove that you're putting it back together better then the factory...

1 of 1, completed over time, with lots of attention to detail. Instead of just 1 of many, done quickly, with less attention to detail...

It's less noticeable rotated right side up.. Maybe GT1M will have some suggestions for making it blend better & having the unevenness stand out less.

Actually, now that you mention it, I do have a very good solution to this dilemma...

When you look at it, only look at it from one side or the other, never head on......;)

Thanks JB!
Your welcome! You are most definitely earning those lazy days cruising the bayous in the Ebko w/ that motley crew of scurvy dogs you call 'help'... :)

^^^--Much easier to say when you're not the hand sanding banshee.... Understandably hard to believe when you are that sanding banshee & you can't lift your hands above your elbows....

That looks like it came from the factory like WOG said. If you do decide to fill it in I would sand down to the glass and use the PB mix for fairing. That area being right at the front of the bow will take alot of beating. The mix with the bubbles is alot softer than the PB mix. The bubbles mix may try and crack out on you.

I wish my compressor would slow down a bit. I sure am tried of sanding. :D
Your getting alot done and looking good doing it.

If I had taken all the factory ripples and imperfections out of my hull it would still be upside down !

I figure a little imperfection here & there should add character. Like scars do. Chicks dig scars, they're like tattoos w/ better stories....

^^^ this is partially for my own benefit, as I already have scars from tin & glass alike

I do think that the unevenness is less obvious when the hull's right side up;)

As you recall Troop, OOPS indicated this is prolly a Hand Laid Hull. This being the case, there will always be little discrepencies in things. Nothing will be a mirror image of the other like it would be if it would have come from a mould. You can, if you wish, attempt to shape it back to that Mirror image if you wish, but it is not necessary. Up to you. You are doing an excellent job and she will be better than she was when you are finished. If you think the sanding is bad now, wait till you have 4 coats of gel on her and you start sanding buffing and polishing.;) You WILL be Popeye when she's done. So will Decker when he's done with his Deck Boat! That's why I painted my little 15 footer. I'm WAY to old for all that!!!!

Taking JB's advice...
Got the sanding done from the patch forward....both sides...but only looking at it from one side...trust me!

That's right, he did say something about that... hand laid...I need to look into that just to see the differences in using a mold..I would think they still use a plug to get them started?

Ya still undecided gel or paint...
