By "hairy", I assume you mean with chopped strand. How would you rate the strength of PB with milled fibers?

Sea ya...
Hairy PB is Resin, Cabosil and 1" strands of CSM Fibers and or 1708 fibers, thus the "Hairy" conatation. It's very strong and structural. Hard to sand but when cured you can beat it with a hammer.

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

well we just had a thunderstorm roll through...slowed me down a little but it is over...

Completed all the sanding of the fairing I put on yesterday...here you can see the corners I was trying to build up...no low spots in this area...

Have some low spots here, will have to go over it again...

This spot turned out good...

I think I need to start marking with a pencil or something the areas that need filled..I missed a bunch of them when putting on the fairing yesterday...

That,s a good idea Troop when your kinda hustling to get the fairing on before it starts to kick sometimes ya forget the little spots you wanted to hit. A piece of blue tape works to..

After seeing everything you have found on the hull, what with the delamination and what definitely looks like water soaked bondo...my inner Sherlock Holmes has come to the conclusion that one of the previous owners of this tub, ran it aground HARD, or hit something while hauling butt and had it Band-aid repaired...

I am glad to see your perseverance and attention to detail is going to make this boat a Bazillion times better than it ever was...

Great work, POPEYE!;)

Have a super week...:D

I agree with GT on possible previous hull damage. Good vids but I,m not sure witch sound is worse the grinder or the krackling sound of the screw driver ..LOL !

Y a I agree with you GT...While grinding today I think the glass was just busted...not really delaminated...started out small spots today that grew...but I finally hit pay dirt...err... I mean good glass...

You ahve a good week to my friend....toot! toot!

I only left the sound because you all wanted audio....think Floyd will come along for the next one...that grinder sounds sick...I should have had my earplugs in...

Yeah, when I get in a hurry is when I create problems!

Love the videos. You're raising the bar here.

Any sound, is better than a silent film. And some people's choice of music can be annoying. So, I vote for sticking with the grinder and the bondo cracking sounds.

Sea ya...

Hey Troop, Glad to see ya doing well and kicking some ***. How do you like hanging onto the inline sander? Looks like you got alot done with it.
I agree with the other's about the damage. Also OOPS gave a good statement about the delam in your post.
Get the inline with heavy gritt and use it on the patch. It will really help in keeping everything flat and straight. Liked the vids.
Have a greet week.

Decker...I see why you said what you did...luckily for me my tank doesn't have enough volume to allow me to sand for more than 5 mins at a time..need to find another tank to put inline with the compressor to use this thing more effectively...I've got more questions on the patching I'm doing..will post more later...

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

Started out using hand block.. 120 grit paper to prep this side...noticed a depression on both of the sections I was working on...
maked with a pencil but can hardly see it...then took out the airfile and used a marker...as you can see the bottom section is fairly close..
the upper part has a ways to go...and I am hitting glass there where you can see red...and the edge is getting sharp on that corner...should I just add fairing material to get this flat or continue the way I am going?

I'll try to get some pics to visually explain what I am finding...the way I see it, I have a long way to go to be inline with the section of the keel aft...but I was thinking..is the keel line actually a radius and not a straight line?

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

It's a radius and the depression that you penciled is Factory I believe.
