Rick, that is one of the ideas I was thinking....but I tried an area with 1708 and it serenade to become smooth after 2ndsucking coat. Lol is there any benefit to just going ahead and gelcoating.....then if I change my mind I can carpet over gelcoat?

You can do that.... I'm still thinking of a snap in carpet over the gel

I always try to keep things original and as new looking as possible. that way if I don't sell I can hand it down to my kids with no questions asked. Just my option for what it worth.

Almost all the deck is dry fit! Just two small pieces left each side of splashwell. Going to cut those two pieces and csm bottoms tomorrow.....deck will be in Saturday!!!!

Anyone have an idea how much foam it will take for my 18ft Bayliner. I believe I calculated a gallon of part a and b.

Well....went ahead and ordered 2 gallons each of part A and B foam. Shipping and all was a little over 150.00 from uscomp. Would rather have extra than not enough. But, if I only need a gallon of each.....then I can sell the other gallon cheap! Lol

Thanks, Rick....that is good to hear! I am one of those guys that second....and third......sometimes even fourth guesses myself on everything. I have now had a boat fiberglass explosion dream twice!!!!

Well after two long evenings I have finally got the pieces cut and dry fit for under the front dash...seats etc. Only a couple hard cuts left and I will be laying the fiberglass to it.

Thanks, I hope it is a good build. That is the biggest reason I make videos is so hopefully if anyone spotted a big mistake they could help me avoid a disaster! I keep going over every detail wondering it that is the correct way to do it...or will that be what causes the hull to explode into a thousand pieces when I hit a big wave. Lol

Ground for my almost last time tonight! Went through the whole boat getting ready for last csm layup on floor, and removed glue from hull sides. Man, suit up tape sleeves to gloves, full face respirator, and 3I hrs of grinding and NOT a piece of fiberglass dust on me. oh yeah don't forget Bluetooth headphones and some tunes.
