Good luck on the new boat kemer! Where do you usually launch?
Huh? Week before it wasn't . . . Where'd you hang out?
Thank you sir. Just got the wonderful news from the wife that she may be considering changing our plans from getting the boat to getting a house. Ugh! Talk about taking the wind out of someones sails. Guess some more discussing is in order there. Anyways to your question...I usually play in the boulder basin. My favorite launch was Hemenway Harbor until that got too low then I just went over next door to Boulder Harbor. But if I followed my dad up then he liked to hang over in the Overton arm so we would launch at Calville or Echo.
Here comes the john boat!sorry bro,but the wife is right house is more important, I hated to say it though.
No worries. We had a chat and decided to get the boat first. This way when it comes time to look at homes we'll know if we need to look for one with a 3 car garage, or if the boat is too tall to fit in a garage then find a home with boat/RV parking next to the house that I can either build a taller garage for it or put up a tent of some sort.
Any wife that chooses a boat before the house is the real deal! Just dont spend too many nights out there on the boat fixin stuff,Sooner or later they get jealous, unless there fixin too with you.
Thanks for the well wishes. The boat hunt is going pretty well. Got it down to 2 boats. Our primary one is a 2000 Reinell 200L with a Volvo 5.0sx and only 97 hours on it. Its at a dealer in Cali. Pretty well optioned out, has a bimini, bow and cockpit cover, and its been gone through by the service department so I feel comfortable with making the purchase. Plus I wont have any issues getting a sea trial before I buy. Plus the dealer doesn't have any emotional attachment to it so I can negotiate the price a bit easier.
As far as a name...well that's already been picked out. We'll be calling this one "Tahoe Dreams". My wife lived in Tahoe for 5 years and has aspirations of moving back, so that's where the name came from.
As soon as it is powered, boat will be launched from Temple Bar. 120 miles from house, but a good friend has a house with a RV hookup close-by. I might store the TT and boat there.
That Reinell is a nice boat and those are low hrs. Is the dealer with the boat in So CA? Not Sun country by any chance..Good dealer
I know, I know...the beige hull stripe and plain white interior isn't exactly the most eye catching combo, but I would rather have good shape over eye popping any day.
Nice looking boat! Very clean lines. It sure looks to be in top shape in the pics, and that's a great motor package for that boat. Congrats, and remember..when you go to Perris, don't drink the water! It's perfect to test in, but when they started handing out the pamphlets "no deification or washing diapers in the lake" years ago we stopped going
