Re: Delema

Got to relay a situation we have in our family. 40 years ago my brother was about to get married to his girl. Everything went pear-shaped when they went to her home one evening to find her father shoot her mother dead in a domestic, then try unsucessfully to finish himself. Mad a mess of his face with the 12 guage and has since been in a mental instituation. The girl concerned left the relationship with the brother, never to be heard of again. 35 yrs later the brother gets a letter from the Salvation Army saying a chap in another country believes he is his son and would like to make contact.(he had been adopted out to people who had moved overseas)
The 2 have made contact, and although have never met, they comunicate by phone, e-mail etc (the 2 countries are a distance apart)regularly.
My brother was like a stunned mullet when this situation 1st arose, but the two now have a pretty good relationship. His wife has never had any objection to or disappointment of my brother. Their 2 children are the same. It is not like it is one big happy family, but it is a very close relationship between everyone, including me and the other sibblings.(my 2nd son is a week older)
You have recieved good sound advice, and I don't believe you have anything to fear, infact you probably have everything to gain. Don't worry yourself sick about it, things will turn out for the best.
Just as a foot note. my brother builds rods, drag machines, & manufactures fishing lures for a living, and guess what this son's hobbies are: customising old cars and trout fishing. Both are balding in the front and have big mostaches - it is strange: one is just an older clone of the other.
Good luck - everything will be fine.
