Now this I agree with... figure out first what RPM you'll be running at, and then choose/build the engine to match.

Exactly my point again... where is the HP? What RPM does the torque appear at?Maxed out stroker?If you use stock heads and swap them with a set of AFR's you could gain 110 horse if you have the intake and exhaust to match.
The heads choke the engine.Also high rpm engines normally act like crap at low rpms,IE big cam big carb floods and fouls plugs Hence the constant raping the throttel to clean them out.If you want to run a stroker build a 10grand bottom end set up for 6000 top.It'll last forever.Stay away from light tension race rings they use oil.Also most race engines are built loose to keep drag down.Street engines are built tight for longer life.Build the engine for the rpm you need to run,Youll be a lot happier.
