Re: oddjobs troll returns

They won't come here if we don't pay them to . . . They don't pay Coyotes to smuggle them over because they want to see what's on the other side . . . They know what's on the other side . . . $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Tell me what I am missing. We are not going to pack anybody up. You may want that, but it isn't going to happen. The drug dealer analogies don't work unless you claim that they are addicted to money, which I guess they are, but so am I. If there was no money, then I guess I'd grow a garden at my home before the bank kicked me out. I am still confused about who's the dealer and who is the addict anyway. We are supposedly addicted to cheap labor, but they are addicted to cash . . . hmmmmmm. Seems to me that if the supposed law abiding citizen (Americans) would stop breaking laws to hire illegals (me too), that again they probably wouldn't risk life and limb just to check out the weather . . .

Again, what am I missing? Please no confusing analogies, I am obviously too dense.

Oh, and riddle me this Batman. Why don't they just take an Airplane when we get the border secured? I am serious. Aren't Mexicans, Guacamolians (Guatemalans), Hondurans et al allowed to travel to the US as tourists? Do we follow them out of the airport? Honestly, I don't know. Why would you pay the price of an airline ticket to some guy who shows you the way to Drowned Rat's God forsaken desert? :D

I know when I go to another country, they ask me what Hotel I am gonna stay in. Sometimes I just write whatever name I can remember, and I have never had anybody show up and ask me if I am in the Hotel I said I was gonna be in. How would they know what Hotel I actually went to anyway?

Edit: and before anybody calls me a racist, I love Guacamole . . .

QC,

Now I'm going reciprocate. We are in 100% agreement on this issue. I believe we could solve the illegal immigration problem without spending one penny. In fact we (the government) could make money doing it. We just fine the living carp out of anybody caught hiring any illegals. Pretty soon the demand for illegal labor will go away. If there is no demand for the illegal labor, they'll pack up and go home. Maybe its too simplistic of an idea, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Drug Dealers.....at least the sucessful ones dont do the drugs........Crack, Meth, cocain will all eat up your profits and you will soon be doing more than you can sell........So the sell drugs for money, right? All Im saying is if we dont arrest criminals or at least try and stop their behavour cuz they say they are gonna do it anyway we are buying into a bunch of B.S.

Yep, 100%. There is an enforcement cost, but a couple of big fines and things change dramatically. Where we may differ is that due to multi-generational laziness on our part, I do believe in allowing those already here to stay if they work towards citizenship. I also would get to keep my current gardener :D Again, I don't think, a) that we are shipping anybody home and b) we don't break up families, we leave that to North Korea, Cuba, China, hmmmm common thread there.

BTW, this is what I believe you think of most of my thoughts . . . i.e. evil=bad and is definable. QC's simple line for most issues ;)

Re: oddjobs troll returns

Gee, I never looked at it that way. When I hired some people to do work at my house I didn't realize that when they cased the place and broke in later it was all my fault. I had too nice of a place and too many valuables that enticed them to become lawbreakers. They were nice enough people but I just tempted them too much. You're right, I should reward them and give them part ownership in my property and retirement.
Yep, it's all my fault! How can I rid myself of the guilt??

Re: oddjobs troll returns

In my case, the perps were citizens and of a different minority group.

I still think that the analogy applies. Some think that they are entitled to what I've earned off of their backs even though they chose the rate of fair compensation.
You're correct about the employer of illegals. Unfortunately, there is only a requirement of 2 specific documents (which are probably forged)with no provisions for the checking of authenticity. My supplier thinks that some employees may be illegal but he is not allowed to verify their doc's.

The Senate seems to be giving away the farm!

CD

Crusty Dude, out of the goodness of my heart I will help you get rid of your guilt. Just send me $200.00 per week forever and you'll feel much better about all of that wealth you worked your entire life to save. Sorry to hijack the thread but it is to help my fellow man.
