A lot of good points made in this thread. I think it's interesting how some have more literally answered the original question and how some have gone more along the happiness route. Both are valid.
Also, I think 642mx's responses have been perfectly valid in the context of this thread and not bragging. I could not even close to pay cash for 1 mediocre new car let alone a couple. So that is quite "richer" than I.
My 3 favorite comments: The one about having enough money that it works for you--------the one that said to be able to afford all of what you need and most of what you want------the one about having X% left AFTER paying all the bills taxes.
I do pretty well but I'm chained to this desk all day every day and it's really getting old. However, I am making 30% more now than I was 2 years ago which really softens the blow. I did give up some vacation time, and a great amount of flexibility for that money and there are times when I wonder if it was the right decision. Course then payday rolls around......
