Whatever happened to the days when Homosexuality was treated as the Mental Disorder that it is? Why has the American Public abandonned helping these gays get the treatment they require? Why is the government promoting the lifestyle of these mentally challenged people, instead of trying to cure them of their ailment? Why does the American people have to foot the bill for AIDS research in Africa, when all we have to do is put these people in one place, like mental institutions, where they can monitored, so that they don't continue to spread the deasese(sp?), and can get the proper treatments to possibly cure them of their Homosexuality? Instead, the government has turned a blind eye to the problem and has no intentions of doing anything about it! And that is a shame. Kenny

Ok Wvit Im not sure I get your point are comparing the preceved predjuduce against gays to the horror of th nazi's? Or are you agreeing with the veiws of Himmler. The topic here is not weather gay people should be killed or persicuted or even if its ok to Talk harshly about them but it is about a "Christian" minister saying that Jesus had a gay affair and that what the Bible says has been missunderstood. Its one thing to somebody stand up and say Im gay and the world needs to accept that its quite another to say that everybody has the right to be whatever they want( Christian leader ) and yet preach the excact oposite of the groups beleifs.Any Church that promotes this kind of behvoir and belief is not Christian in my book. So for him to call himself a Christian minister does injustice to all of us Christians period.

I have hesitated to post anything on this thread, because of the highly charged sentiment it brings from both sides of the argument. This topic did, however, come up in our church youth meeting about a month ago. The kids were so totally grossed out by the prospects of the gay lifestyle (for which I am glad). They complained about the homosexuality being depicted on TV, etc (again, for this I am grateful). But I also had to remind them that the Bible is equally as clear on adultery, fornication, etc. Sex outside of marriage, pornography, etc. is as equally detestible in God's eyes. What has happened to loving the sinner while still hating the sin? Just something to think about. I also get very grossed out at seeing anything that resembles a sexually relationship between members of the same sex (man to man or woman to woman). But if we are serious about God's laws and His feelings, shouldn't we want to turn off the TV when it is showing acts of infidelity or sex outside of marriage? BTW, a minister of the gospel should not promote sin - period. Doesn't matter what sin it is.

I was just trying to get the point across that some of the people on this thread like to spout a brand of hatred that has been used to justify terrible actions in the past and will be in the future. There are a certain number of people of every creed, color, sexual orientation, etc. who cause problems. To try and use these few people to judge a whole group of people is wrong. All gays do not molest children, all blacks are not criminals, all Arabs are not terrorists, etc.

I agree with you Wvit im not saying it is ok to hate anybody but to me its like a doctor spreading sickness or a cop robbing houses what this guy is doing. I do not hate Homosexuals but if this is what this church is teaching it is promoting sin according to the Book that they themselvs are calling the truth. If a police officer put out a book on how to rob people and get away with it I imagine people would be up in arms.

Why is it I have to put up with posters on LIRR trains, promoting the TV show "***** Eye For The Straight Guy"? This is repulsive! They show these gays in very provocative positions that I find not only offensive, but illegal! It looks like this one guy is doing the other right there on the poster!!!! I have a problem with that!! Not only is it immoral, its down right disgusting! Kenny

I wonder what would happen to me if I were to remove that poster from the train? Well, I'll tell you... First, I would be arrested for vandalism! Second, I would be charged with destruction of property, namely the train! Third, I would be given a ridiculous bail amount, probably at least $10,000! All that for what...removing a repulsive poster? Then I'd have to go to trial! Well, how many gays have been prosicuted for spreading the AIDS virus around, that has killed hundreds of thoasands of people? Answer... NONE!! Go figure! Kenny

Religion takes a back seat. It is not what it once was to our fathers and their fathers. Wait another ten years, Christian faith will be persecuted again, this time by government and elected officials. The U.S. population is as we speak 6% gay, yet they have lobbied the government and managed to gain support and cried discrimination. They will soon be legally married and will then focus their efforts on getting the bible decreed "hate literature" as they are succeeding in Canada to do. Why?

Kenny I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately I have a gay cousin and lesbian sister-in-law. You what to talk about being in a spot at family gatherings.

And whats worse is the Cousin has HIV. But everybody acts as if he just is just sick.

It is very infuriating (sp?) when all I want to do is scream. And what's worse is that the lifestyle is being promoted in the media.

Scary thoughts nosleep. some people like to call people who have beliefs in the bible crazy, fanatic, pushy and many other names but as I see it "us Christians" do not have the right to hang posters on public property. Whos being pushy with their beliefs. Churchs are privet places that you in Canada and every other professed free contry should be able to read whatever book and preach their beliefs to their people however they want. What I can say is for those people who disreagard what the Bible says, It does predict this thing happening. Christians will be persicuted for their beliefs. It just doesnt seem american to me but as somebody once posted here on a simaler topic. "the squeeky wheel gets the oil"

Here are some interesting statistics. * Students who describe themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered are five times more likely to miss school because of feeling unsafe. 28% are forced to drop out. * The vast majority of victims of anti-lesbian/gay violence - possibly more than 80% - never report the incident, often due to fear of being "outed." * 85% of teachers oppose integrating lesbian, gay and bisexual themes in their curricula. * Due to sexual orientation discrimination, lesbians earn up to 14% less than their heterosexual female peers with similar jobs, education, age and residence, according to a study by the University of Maryland. * 42% of homeless youth identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual. * More than 84% of Americans oppose employment discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. * 75% of people committing hate crimes are under age 30 - one in three are under 18 - and some of the most pervasive anti-gay violence occurs in schools. * Lesbian, gay and bisexual youth are at a four times higher risk for suicide than their straight peers. * A survey of 191 employers revealed that 18% would fire, 27% would refuse to hire and 26% would refuse to promote a person they perceived to be lesbian, gay or bisexual. I am not a proponent of bi-sexual relationships, however I do know they are still human beings. It seems that this has become an acceptable prejudice because of the religious connotations. I am a male, if I was meant to mate with another male, I would have female "parts". What is so hard to understand about that? Wanting to have a relationship with the same sex is not normal, or even physically correct. Call it gay bashing, or whatever you want, it doesn't bother me. I get sick and tired of this homosexual lifestyle being forced on me by the media. I don't force my heterosexual lifestyle on anyone, so why is it ok to have people like Rosie 'o diphead constantly pushing her sexual orientation on everyone? If you want to be gay, keep it quiet, just like I keep it quiet that i'm not gay. Btw, even animals are smart enough to know that they are supposed to mate with the opposite sex.
