1-3 inches is a trace, aint it? :D

1" to 3"?.....around here Rob that is a 'full on' winter storm:D:D:D
That said, our temperatures are cool. Right now we are running about 7?C-10?C in these parts (which is about...say, 45-50?F. for American neighbours).
No morning frosts or anything like that...but the leaves are definitely starting to come down.
All Good

YUP, I know the island very good from Alberts head to Courteny/Comox and to Port Hardy/Holberg and as far west as Banfield.
I have seen big snow a few times on the lower levels that wet slimey stuff and gone up to MT Washington for some awesome powder (rarely though)

Around here Champagne powder, that's why the interior of BC is one of the best snowmobiling and skiing destinations. (Steep and Deep)

By the way Wimusky, do you know if I trade the seat for my 2002 summit to the seat offf of a rave will make any difference in riding, need to sit higher and get more leg room?

...ahhhhh, snowmachines!!!! one of the best parts of winter. Having grown up and lived in Victoria when I was younger, I had never been on one until I moved to Ontario in the mid 80's.
I still laugh when I remember my Ontario roommates at the time looking at me 'dropped jaw' like I was from Mars when I told them I had never even seen one up close.....it was completely unheard of for them.:D
A great part of the winter entertainment and transpo' in the snow for sure!!!

OOPs, REV not RAVE.

Rev seat is higher with a frame under it that attaches to the tunnel to give you more of an upright stance when riding unlike the older seats

(Note to self-gotta check my rave)

What year Rev? 2002? I can get you answer shortly. A guy on a snowmobile forum is Doo or Die! He's like 7' and 300#s. Good guy. He should be able to help. May have other options too. Needless to say, he has legroom problems..... He has a 2004 'Gade...

ps. The rain is starting to turn over to snow.......

Wimusky, the sleds a 2002 700cc, but not the rev platform (long seat).

I Just wonder if it would make a difference/

Thanks Bud,

SOOOO, getting back to this snow thing, we have already had our first death of the year do to avalanche.

It happened up near the BC-Alaska border (Stewart/Hyder area)

Usually we get a wack of people braving the backcountry on sleds, skis or snowshoes that unleash a mountain of snow on them selfs or others.

Thanks Bud,

Hey Robby,
Here's the guys reply about that seat:

hey buddy, i sure can relate, lol
im not sure that the seat would fit a zx chassis since its for a rev chassis. it would for sure be taller so he could streach his legs more. and with a riser would be way more comfy for him. im sure with some fabrication it would fit though??
sometimes it does suck being tall!!!

Hope it helps........

Been watching Highway Thru Hell on the Discovery channel that takes place in your neck of the woods. Holy crap:eek:. In the short time I lived in BC, on the Island, we were always warned about traveling in the winter through the Hope and Kamloops area so we didn't. You guys are friggin nuts up there. No wonder you have sleds. I"ll never birch about our pitiful Barrie snow load again after seeing what you guys get.

Re: WTH!!, its SNOWING

Say, where are you at if you don't mind me asking? I grew up around Lake Vermilion............. I love that lake. It's nice and big compared to the lakes down here.. However, it's getting busy. Starting to call it Minnetonka North......... Still not that bad...... yet......

Grand Rapids. Seems like all the money has headed north from Minnetonka to Brainerd. When Brainerd got full it did a three-way split to Leech Lake, Pokegama and Vermilion. You can imagine what that did to the price of lakeshore! I was hoping with a couple of promotions at work to move to a lake, but that didn't happen. Oh, well. At least I'm not paying property tax on lakeshore! Bought a little place in Mesa, AZ instead and will snowbird for 4 months a year. I still have 1005 lakes to choose from here in Itasca County, so. . . We've had the canoe in over 300 of them so far -- hope to continue the treck next year.

I've also tried to talk the wife into something like a 24' hardtop and call it our floating lake home. No such luck, yet. . .;)

I do want to do a little muskie fishing on Vermilion one of these days, although there's plenty of good fishing closer to home!

Well, time to get out and check the trail cam and finish getting ready for winter.

Yup, the COQ can be a real witch in winter and fall.

There are a couple of other passes that can be the same or worse, but the wet weather funnels up from the coast hits the cold air and dumps snow like crazy on the COQ.

I find the HWY from 100 mile house to Prince George to be overall the worst driving in the winter after a big storm.

....yeah, I hear ya' Rob. Down here in the Capital we have been getting hit with a lot of wind and rain since yesterday afternoon. We even lost our power last night for about 8 hrs....which was interesting.
Today is no different.....really grey and wet out, bit of a bummer visually but hey, no snow....yet.;):)

So, Musky, put the boat in the water and go fishing ... Was over a large school of probably stripers yesterday, but couldn't get them to hit anything ... Just weren't eating. Where there is a will, there is a way ... No snow or ice, go boating!;);)

No thanks........ It's 25?, the wind is blowing and the water temp must be right around 32?. Besides, she's been winterized for awhile now. I guess the "will" isn't strong enough...lol I need to finish "stringing" the house and a few trees............... Bye!
