Get the right muffs or modify one. The pics are the correct muffs. You can use the regular muffs but they don't work as well. If you use the regular make sure to run for short times and keep an ear tuned in for the alarm. Test the alarm?? key on, motor off, ground the orange lead at the buss...

89 Force 50 HP Presolite T/T valve body leak

Back when RRitt (RIP) was fixing these pumps he mentioned re-tapping the port if the threads were buggered. Maybe someone has the info on doing that procedure? If one of the ports need fixing this might help?

4 stroke air /fuel screw setting

2005 250 Yam 4stroke. My friend thinks he knows how to set these screws. He saw somebody do it using the gauges and says he can do without them. It's his motor and it runs like crap at low speed. Anyone know how or if it's printed how to do it someplace? Thanks

Sea King 9.2hp Motor will not start

Open the float bowl and see if there's any fuel getting past the needle/seat. Clean the carb, the low speed jets could be clogged after setting so long.

89 Force 50 hp lubing the throttle handle mechanism

WD is probably the least damaging of any of the lubes, PB Blaster and the more corrosive lubes can damage the plastic and rubber parts and pieces. Some, includinmg the carb soaks will cause swelling in the rubber and actually shut off the fuel in the needle seat(ask how I know :) )

Force 85 not firing on cylinder 3

http://standardmagneto.com/marine.html is an economical place to get replacement packs. Trying to cross wires will probably short out the good pack and cause problems. The used 2 packs and they don't work when trying to shortcut anything. Two systems that don't work together when crossing wires.

Force 85 not firing on cylinder 3

Try swapping the packs around and see if the spark follows the change??? The trigger wires are very thin and the ends break under the shrink wrap at the connector. I replace all the connectors as sop.

    87 Force 85hp Flywheel removal

The 1/4X20 will probably strip out on the first attempt. If you want to continue this way, I'd drill and tap a 5/16"hole. Myself, I use a BIG 3 jaw puller and a 3 pound hammer. Harbor Freight puller kit with 3 pullers. The big'n hook it up, undo the nut and reinstall it but only 2-3 turns so the...

    1970 Chrysler 70hp outboard motor

Get the last spark plug out and if it's still hard to turn over, drop the lower unit, then if it's still hard then bore scope the cylinders. Rusty cylinders??? Check the gear oil. Make sure that you remove the drain plug and not the screw on the side of the gearbox. Pulling that screw will...

1968 Chrysler 3.5 with no spark

File the points or replace, that old they can be bad and no amount of cleaning/sanding will help. Condenser could be bad?? Does that model have a kill button? test it?
