    Trailer Tires

A car tire can work in some instances, but it is an inferior tire for a trailer. Sidewall's are softer, and in a tandem arrangement it could be very bad. LT tires can be ran without any issue due to their similar sidewall construction, as well as cargo van tires given they are the same type

What year outboard is this Super Seahorse 40hp?

yeah, I know. I have pulled many of these type carbs apart and it's not a hard job. I actually found an old thread on an RDS-25 with the same symptoms.. The float has to be sticking down if the float level gets to a set point, it won't come back up

What year outboard is this Super Seahorse 40hp?

Another problem I found with this engine is that it completely floods sometimes.. Run great then floods itself out.. I know it's a stuck float or a needle and seat issue as gas pours out of the carb throat when it happens. Question is, why only sometimes? It happened at the lake and I had to...

    1970 Johnson 115 - add kill switch

you will be 100% in compliance by doing nothing.. The law has always been there, but it's recently gained traction to be enforced.. Basically it says that if it's equipped, you need to use it. A 1964 boat or a 1970 motor/ controller would have never had a kill switch lanyard. Something rings a...

Is there a better gear oil pump out there?

yeah, sadly I had to use the last Mercury one I had on the rototiller. The Attwood one I bought specifically for the rototiller project lasted about 30 seconds before it blew apart... But the Attwood one works well enough pumping what it is supposed to

    Finally Had To Retire It

I think he stickered it as a 60hp because it broke 60hp on the dyno. The decal companies are usually able to customize if you ask them

Is there a better gear oil pump out there?

I buy one from Walmart just about every year, but I use them for everything.. Last good one I had was a Mercury Quicksilver one and I killed it pumping 140W gear oil into a Troy Bilt Horse rototiller. I did rob one of the fittings from one of them a long time ago and hooked it to a bike pump

    Sea King Fuel Connector

you would be able to tell by looking, and if not you could swap it to one with a screw driver. 1962 would be one of the Gale manufactured outboards, which was just an upscaled OMC motor

1971 Johnson 25hp convert to electric start?

If you only care about it spinning over, then the bracket and starter will get you going. You will need a battery, a starter relay of some sort and a push button.

    How many boats is enough?

I have 5 boats, but I only use one of them. One is under construction, one needs work but I really don't 'need' that boat, The boat I use ( holiday 14 ) is light and easy to tow/ launch and runs on a sip of gas. The other 2 are car-top boats, one of them being an inflatable

    Bilge Pump Wiring Question

A 1994 could have a mercury switch and it might be bad especially if the bilge was flooded. You can replace it with a float switch and it's wired the same. There are diagrams on Google images should you need one... You don't want to mess with fuses if your boat is taking on water, I would call...

Longshot help for friend, '98 EFI fuel check valve?

It's a part that goes bad on the trucks as well.. It allows the line to drain back to the tank. The solution is to cycle the key twice and hit the starter after the second prime... OR just accept the long crank and it'll start.. I had a truck with the valve that was bad. I just cranked it

How fast is 85 force outboard

Weigh your boat. It should be rated for an 85hp but I bet it's water logged. They put 50s on the 17ft stock, it should plane with 3 people. if compression is good it should be at least 75hp.

    16' Aluminum 1975 Starcraft BT - Outboard

All you have to do is remove the passenger console, slide the driver side console to the center, and then use the side cap from the passenger console on the driver console and you will have basically what Starcraft did on the Mariners which was the center console variation of that same hull
