    selling my boat

I'd actually broker it. That way I wouldn't deal with the dreamers and cheapskates. My time and sanity is worth whatever the broker is charging.

    13 foot restoration project.

Those stickers are nav aid stickers. Tell ya about horn blasts, which channel markers, etc. My Bayliner had something similar in an all-in-one sticker on the dash. Funny...the FourWinns I had and my current Chap don't. Good to see the project is kicking off again.

    Gps/compass

Toss either the compass or GPS on a ram mount to move it up/over. This assumes you have some sort of hard top on your boat.

Options for towing boat w a non tilt/trim small outboard (25 hp)?

Way, way back when....before advent of transom savers, internet, etc....what my family did trailering our boat was to stuff a small block of wood between the motor and the motor bracket to hold the outboard up for road clearance. This on a very old Evinrude Big Twin 30HP that did not have power...

    Plywood floor replacement...Questions

Just trying to understand here.... In post #5 you mentioned the foam was waterlogged. I don't see where it was removed and replaced. You do realize that by not replacing it, you are potentially carrying around 400+lbs of excess weight. This will effect the performance of your boat. Also, the...

Pontoon sitting for over 10 years

That Force outboard is a 2 stroke...probably 50:1 ratio. Hopefully during your testing you ran premix to try starting it. **Merc stopped making them in 1999-2000. As for the pontoons themselves, there is an aluminum cleaner out there (Oxalix acid I think??) that is spray on, let sit, rinse off...

Buying a used boat anxiety-talk me down.

It really all comes down to care. My boats when turned in were factory new as I kept them covered when not in use, kept them clean, and either did the maintenance myself OR had the marina do it. Think of it with cars as well. You can baby a 2004 Corolla and it will look factory new if it never...

    ....stocking up for Corona virus

We're starting to open up in NY as well. I'm fully vaxed, 2nd shot was 5/15 so I'm good to go maskless starting this coming weekend - 2 weeks for immunity to completely build from what I've read. That being said, doesn't really bother me at this point to go into a business and don a mask. Most...

Buying a used boat anxiety-talk me down.

Tap test on a fiberglass boat isn't going to tell you anything. To determine if it had rot, you'd either need something significant - soft floor, cracks in transom, etc - OR be able to drill into it to test and I honestly would not expect a seller to allow you to do this. You're looking at a...

Canvas? Best bet is a custom canvas shop - break out your wallet. OR...buy an industrial sewing machine (ask as several here can point you in the right direction) and sew your own. What info are you looking for? Specifics are going to help here in your quest.

    Engine overheating

When you got everything ready for the season, is it possible you flipped the hoses for the waterpump? I ask as I did just that one year on my Four Winns. Ran fine on the flush port, never overheated. Got it on the water and within minutes the alarm went off. Cooked the impeller and luckily...

    Crazy 60's or 70's 2 seater CO-V-CAT

Based off size, eons ago...pre-internet, amusement parks used to have these small power boats you could rent. I don't think its too much of a stretch to think that *might* be part of its history. I see similar sized boats come up on Craigslist that tout just that - former amusement park boat...

Water from bilge screw holes - NEED ADVICE!!!

IF, mighty big IF, that's the only spot of rot, my thinking would be this.... Cut the fiberglass top off the sacrificial mounting board, leaving the sides intact to be used as a form. Remove rotten wood - chisel, grinder, whatnot. Pour in Seacast - such a small area it should be reasonably...

Price for these parts and where to get them for a 1995 Silverton Marine 271 Express

Ok....let's try it this way... You have the part in front of you on your boat. Google that to find the specs, if possible. Then go to iBoats and do a search for your part. Confirm the specs and then order. There's no magic bullet here of "buy this, that, and the other" as boat parts are...

    Hey Newbies

Hey Newbies....it's worth what some poor soul is willing to pay to haul your pride and joy off your property and take on your headache. This is not the collector car scene where a 50+ year old diamond in the rough is going to fetch top dollar....unless you have a rare documented well sought...

Material Availability for DIY/Home Improvement Projects?

My local Homely Despots was well stocked with almost everything. That includes very wet pressure treated (ground contact rated) lumber. The treatment oozed as I drove screws into it - flower boxes for the wife. That being said, I'm waiting on laptops for work (delayed till mid-June...probably...
