    Johnson 150 Ficht. Not sure of the year??? # on the silver plug 4886732 As you(me) squeeze the bulb fuel squirts out the top cyl or hole for the top cyl. see pic by the #1 What's behind there that lets fuel out? THANKS When you run it runs but not as good as the second motor.

    The slow turn sounds like low compression on one or more holes. Do the compression test with a different gauge. The results should be 145-155 depending on the cylinder and gauge. Your 4 cyl the top and bottom have different results. Came from the factory with a 10# difference between top/bottom...

    removing a ford 302 with penta 280 outdrive.

    Third place: the shift cable hose. Forth place: the rubber donut where the tail of the bell housing goes through the transom. If the hose is cocked a little it can let water in. My "guess" would be the Y-pipe seal.

    RUSTY PLUGS: the manifold and riser is probably leaking water into the motor??? Check the valve lash?? Compression: if all 4 are that close?? then the gauge is faulty or the procedure used is wrong or the valves are staying open too long??

    (but fuel shoots straight out the 90 degree fitting going into the cylinder, flooding the engine to the point of leaking out off the foot and the carbs. Every time you hit the primer it shoot straight out of it.) Pics of the 90d fitting? You shouldn't be able to see any fuel when you activate...

    WATER!!

    1986 200 Mercury. My customer said he thinks there might be water in the motor??? He's right. The stbd. bank of cyl. was full and had hydro locked the motor. Got it freed up and running good on the hose. He put it in the water and it did it again. Same 3 cyl. on stbd. bank. Any ideas??? Thanks
