    5.0gi PEFS stalls and deceleration

The boat was bought with the 5.0 locked solid, i got a cheap deal out of it. Timing was set from what i saw by non base. Then i came along after a back and forth with who did it and did the timing as per volvo. Paper clip jumping at dtc with a timing light and got 8 btdc, engine still rough. I...

    5.0gi PEFS stalls and deceleration

I got someone to look at it and hook up a computer. Even IF it gets resolved i see a carburator in my future. Several people have sugested this due to poor reliability of TBI. Any thoughts?

    5.0gi PEFS stalls and deceleration

Idle seems to be running ok after several attempts at starting. When it starts by giving it throttle engine shakes or vibrates. Engine was aligned and drive installed by a shop because of previous misalignment upon engine intall. Once engine starts you very slowly throttle past 2000 rpms it...

    New 5.7 overheating

Sorry for that, "clear" as in no obstructions. Now with the engine in place getting to the cooler is a nightmare if not impossible. Even getting to the hose that comes from the transom to the cooler is near impossible also. Now for the sake of reason lets say the issue lies in the hose going to...

Yes both risers and manifolds have been replaced and still over heating. Good water circulation from the impeller to engine. Tested thermostat and indeed at 160 it opens. At this point i checked for clogs and i have come up empty. Tested today again and one of the new risers reaches 160° while...

    2000 FW 238 Vista VDO

I am looking to replace my POS Vdo gages for individual ones. Has anyone with vdo gages completed such a project that can guide me. I have read that FW used to make a panel to substitute the horrible vdo gauges. Looking to get your thoughts. Thx

    New 5.7 overheating

Splitting won't be a problem. That i can do easy and might as well so i can inspect interior components. What has me more concerned is the overheating, while for less that a minute the damage that it might have done to a new long block.

    New 5.7 overheating

It was pliable to a degree but very warped. It looked like a rubber anti back flow. I believe it is the part number you stated.
