alpha one gen 2 exhaust bellows

The Mercathode system puts a small drain on the battery (15 ma +/-) . . . some folks shut it off (circuit breaker) if they leave their boat in a slip for extended periods of time without use. So, it defeats the purpose.

alpha one gen 2 exhaust bellows

Put a fresh set of anodes and keep an eye on the corrosion. Lots of folks in fresh water think they don't have to take care of their outdrives . . . but in fact they do.

alpha one gen 2 exhaust bellows

How 'bout the corrosion on the outdrive? any concerns about that? Usually you find the exhaust 'tube' on the Bravo's , but Alphas could have them as well.

    2008 Tahoe Q7i beeping

Welcome to iBoats . . . Lower unit sensor  . . . that's a new one for me. Got an owner's manual for the engine? Odds are that the water flow is restricted from the mud drug and there is a water pressure sensor sounding the alarm. What engine and outdrive is in the boat? You'll...

    1968 Hydroswift

Welcome to iBoats. . . Owner's manuals for boats don't really exist (until recently) and particularly for an older boat. Most of them are mere pamphlets and just have info on navigation and avoiding playing 'bumper boats' with others. The HIN (ie serial number) is Pre-1972 so it is only...

old (unsure of year) Honda BF75 (7.5hp) outboard won't throttle in neutral or reverse

Many/if not most small engines have a governor that prevents advancing the throttle very much when in neutral. Nothing good can happen over revving an engine. Pull the cowl and check to see if that is the case.

    gimbal bearing install

The gimbal bearing would not have any reliance on the engine alignment. If you are getting too much resistance and the bearing assembly is not going in as it should, try pulling it back out and checking everything. IIRC, there was/is a particular orientation for the gimbal bearing. . . . but...

    Info on this boat

Lots of folks ask about information on older boats and those that are out of production. I'm not sure how the information would help though . . . it's not like you can get parts & service. Is there particular info you are looking for? What SK posted is about the most you may find.

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

I got the other helm backrest made this morning and also had some time to do the 'hidem gimp' on the seat bases that act as hatches, etc. . . The gimp gives it a nice finished look. . . Next up is the helm seat bases and then I'll be traveling for a while. Won't get to install the seats until...

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

Quick Update. . . I was working on the other helm seat . . . which is really the first class passenger seat :ROFLMAO:. I got to the part where the armrest backing plate goes on . . . it fastens by 3 small (3/4") screws. . . nowhere to be found. 🥴 So, I'll be making a run to the hardware store...

Can anyone help me identify this boat model

Just referencing the picture of the HIN, which ends in 91. I wonder if the OP is talking about 2 boats . . .

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

I got the first helm seat backrest done. . . Some bungees came in handy to hold the cover in place during stretching and stapling. . . Here are a couple pictures of the helm seat . . . . . . I like that the diamond pleating wraps underneath, which is the adjustment I made to the patterns...

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

I have been stitching away at the helm seat backrest, while the Admiral worked on the paint removal from the aluminum frames. As I mentioned earlier, I made a pattern change 'on-the-fly' to get the diamond pleated section to wrap around the bottom of the backrest. . . Of course stitching that...

Bravo 3 with small leak from prop shaft

Take the propellers off for a better look. Next step would be to drain the outdrive, do a pressure test to verify the leaky seal. Replace the seals as needed. Nothing good can happen by running the boat as is.

Taking boat into salt / brackish water

My closed cooling system would have build-up inside (calcium . . . aka lime). Barnacle Buster dissolves the deposits fairly well. Not sure how much salt-away gets rid of . . . I've used salt-away once on my outboards and much of the calcium was still there. Barnacle Buster ate it for lunch.

    Bayliner 2252 Wiring Diagram

Boat manufacturers tend not to publish much information about their wiring, plumbing, etc. Most of the information is published by the engine manufacturer (Mercruiser). So, you can search parts list for your engine via serial number and get about 80% of what you may need. Converting to closed...

Taking boat into salt / brackish water

All seriousness aside . . . Your boat and engine will instantly dissolve when it hits salt water and you'll find yourself swimming for shore j/k . . . . :ROFLMAO: An occasional trip out into the bay should be OK. If you keep it there for a few days, you may need to consider replacing the...
