    mercruiser 7.4 (L29) firing order

It looks very different than my 1996 (gen 6) wire layout, although the firing order is the same as what you have. Did you verify the position of the rotor inside the distributor with the engine at #1 TDC on the compression stroke?

    Bravo 3 Shift Adjustment . . .

I’ve only had the boat out once, but shifting gears is much more pronounced. Hopefully, that will be the case going forward.

    Boat submarining question

I have seen those videos, where someone with an inboard ski boat while going at a good clip jams it into reverse. The bow buries itself and the boat is fairly well flooded. I would recommend you stick to more typical use of your boat

Brandy new trim sender not working

Greetings, The hits keep on coming as far as boat maintenance this year. I put on brand new trim senders and limit switches on both engines this year. The starboard engine/outdrive sender works fine. The port side was difficult to get working and adjust. At one point I opened it up to see...

Sea water pump impeller vanes flipped to the wrong way . . . ???

The boat was launched for the season today . . . so far so good on the impeller vanes. Both engines held a nice 160˚F while underway today. :)

21 foot Boston Whaler "Justice" gas tank

Welcome to iBoats . . . Google is your friend. On a search there are Bay City Fab (Ventura CA) and American fuel Tanks (La Mesa, CA) that come up, and a few others not too far away. You may want to pick a company that is on the west coast to avoid excessive shipping charges. Most of these...

Claims its a cracked engine block

Are the new owners looking for a refund or something of that sort? Hard to say exactly, but it could be all sorts of things. Big milkshake is usually a cracked engine block. Did they send you any pictures or have they let you inspect the engine? Assuming the boat did have a major defect when...

Help with water leak on 1999 MerCruiser Bravo 3

Yes, Formulas seem to have tight engine compartments. I think you are on the right track using an inspection camera to get a better view of the leak. Often, the engine has to come out, based on what is found.

Sea water pump impeller vanes flipped to the wrong way . . . ???

FYI - I bought aftermarket/generic V-belts, and am posting the equivalent numbers for those who may be interested. So I had to replace the sea water pump belt, the alternator belt, and the power steering belt. The profile 'size' is known as a '15' section automotive (about 0.45" top width and...

Sea water pump impeller vanes flipped to the wrong way . . . ???

BTW- the old v-belts were so bad that the alternator was only making about 12 volts when just one engine was running at idle  . . . now it is up to 14 volts. :D

Sea water pump impeller vanes flipped to the wrong way . . . ???

The fact that the engine and belt would not turn the pump led me to realize that the v-belts were beyond their useful life. So, I spent the better part of last night and today sourcing new belts. NAPA was closed, but AutoZone came to the rescue and got me the belts on short notice and a...

Sea water pump impeller vanes flipped to the wrong way . . . ???

Don't tell anybody, but was able to get the impeller vanes to flip back to their correct direction. I removed the output hose from the sea water pump and lubed up the internals with dish soap. Then I rotated the pulley/impeller a few times ( in the wrong direction) to get the internal surfaces...

Sea water pump impeller vanes flipped to the wrong way . . . ???

Greetings, An unusual issue . . . It appears that the impeller vanes in the sea water pump of my port side engine have (somehow) flipped themselves to the wrong direction. All was good at the end of last season, but this year when I started the engines for the first time, I noticed the sea...
