    Rotted transom good stringers.

Just a quick observation, this boat appears to have been made at Home Depot :ROFLMAO: The stud (stringer) does look to be in good shape even a few inches from the transom. (y)

    Reupholstery, maintenance ?s, radio

There are a bunch of threads on re-upholstering boats. Just do a search. Got any pictures of the boat? Not sure what a seacrest 1810 is or looks like. If the seats are simple cushions, then you could be able to make new ones with little/no experience. As far as materials, there are many...

    Bearing buddy

$25 spent on a new set here on iBoats can make the problem go away. (y)

    Rotted transom good stringers.

Yes, we will allow you to cut the stringers and add a section back in :D What is around the stringers will indicate the best way to join them. Can you post some pictures so we can see what you are seeing? As mentioned, make sure the stringers are really good inside and out, else you'll be...

    New motor knocking???

How about that 'not fault warranty' ???

    Cabin Floor restoration, drain question

Are you planning on tabbing all those joints together? Also the stringer, I assume that was a work in-progress picture?

    Water Leaking from transom.

Did you get the trim sender wires properly seated with their grommets oriented correctly and fasten the retaining bolt & clip?

Minty clean 1974 Mercury 9.8hp value?

$800 seems a bit pricey, but in today's market maybe not. Small OB engine pricing has gone crazy the past few years. I would say $600 for sure, and $800 is a possibility.

    New motor knocking???

I would imagine when you go to put in the warranty claim, you may find out who's fault they think it is . . . :(

    Gas fumes in cuddy

Some cabins are more cuddly than others . . . 🤪 If the tank is foamed in, then fuel could be seeping into the foam and not readily present in the bilge. Otherwise a pinhole or weld seam crack as mentioned. Also the sender fitting/flange could be leaking.

    Exhaust Elbow Riser ?

Did you measure the circumference of the Y-pipe and the oval end of the down elbow?

    350 cracked block

Welcome to iBoats . . . It would be best to find a complete 'long block' (block and heads) since a cracked block could have also meant cracked cylinder head (and exhaust manifolds). As Bondo mentioned, you will want to pay special attention to the camshaft in the donor block, as it would...

Are there Owners/Repair manuals for Silverline?

Welcome to iBoats . . . Owner's Manuals for boats never seemed to be a thing. . . whatever manuals were provided usually consisted of non-specific information and navigational rules . . . i.e., the pointed end is the front and don't bump into other boats. So, if you have not found anything via...

    Engine replacement

Welcome to iBoats . . . Isn't boat ownership fun ??? 🤪 I'd go with a new 4.3L long block replacement, as @Bondo said. (He knows this stuff) It can be hard to tell what gets damaged during a hydro-lock and what does not. Since a bunch of boats in the southern USA states...

    Exhaust Elbow Riser ?

I am glad you asked this question, having just gone through the riser extension process myself on my 7.4L engines. I added an extended swim platform (2 years ago) and was concerned about the added weight that could be at the stern. I measured the riser height on my boat with no load and came up...

Material Availability for DIY/Home Improvement Projects?

I was doing a bunch of home improvement projects last year and now into this year. Landscaping supplies, lumber, you name it . . . in short supply and has been for the past year. Seems nuts. Thank goodness I stopped eating computer chips, since I'm on a diet. I hear that is in...

    PVC stringers?

You should take a look at the restoration thread posted about 5 years ago (maybe more) by the member @bigdirty who had to do similar restoration work on a cruiser-style boat. Here is a link to the thread >>>...

    PVC stringers?

Short answer is no . . . I would not recommend using PVC for stringer or structural bulkhead material. As noted, the resin may not stick to it . Plus, it is heavy and not very strong for its weight. Might also be a tad expensive . . . Isn't a 1 x 6 PVC decking board about $4/foot? If you...

    Condensate in manifolds?

Welcome to iBoats . . . You may get a slight pool of water from condensation over the winter months. Those manifolds look OK. It looks like you have riser extensions on that set-up? With the riser/elbows off you can take a borescope/inspection camera and get a look at the exhaust...
