    Getting water in tank

Quite often the leak is the result of a leaking fuel cap. Check to make sure the seals in the cap are intact. Depending on how much water is involved, you can either remove accumulated water via a coalescing fuel filter or siphon the water off the bottom of the tank. To siphon, remove sending...

Mercury Carbureted vs Fuel injection timeline

Not just old. All carbureted 2 strokes spew fuel and oil. It wasn’t until the advent of DI 2 strokes that the issue was addressed. You ought to see the trail of oil and fuel running down the drive after running my 1997 200 hp after 5-10 minutes.

used incorrect thru hull transducer for my deadrise

In theory your shooting 5 degree off perpendicular. In reality, 5 degrees is nothing compared to the errors introduced by bobbing around on less than ideal conditions At 10 ft. = 10.03 ft. At 25 ft. = 25.1 ft At 100 ft = 100.4 ft.

Mercury Pro XS to MercMonitor Level 1 to Lowrance?

Not sure why you would need a junction box for a single engine application. One would think that the Mercmonitor cable would plug directly into the port on the motor. If using your Lowrance to display engine data, you could save a couple of bucks and swap out of the Mercmonitor for a simple...

    Questions regarding tow vehicle

Shocks are not the problem. It’s the soft springs. Had OE auto levelers on the 2001 Tahoe with the tow package. Pulled the boat rather well until the shocks wore out. Wasn’t spending $600 on new shocks for a 14 yro truck. In the end the rear end sagged so bad the equalizers on the trailer...

Buying a boat with 05 F225s - what to look for?

Opinions are just that….opinions. Most based in hearsay and ignorance Put a Ford, Chevy and Dodge truck owners in a room and ask which truck is best. Then formulate an opinion on these brands of your own from their responses. All junk… who would own any of them….lol The issue that allowed the...

    Gas in 2003 18’CC bilge

If the fill hose is OE you might want to consider replacing it. I’m 2 for 2, on two different boats, that further investigation turned up a dry rotted, leaking fill hose.

    Fuel - Pickup, Anti-Siphon, Fuel-Water Separator

You should be running a 10 micron filter which should be changed at least annually. Literally seen filters rust thru from the inside out do to lack of maintenance. Anti-siphon is a one way vacuum valve. Should not be able to blow through it. Suck in one direction only. Seeing that your...

Bearing buddy O-rings - is there a size chart anywhere?

Diameters are easy. A calibrated eyeball is close enough to distinguish one size from the other. The ID are spaced roughly 0.060” intervals in the smaller sizes. Well with the limitations of caliper measurements. I never rarely measure the o-ring proper. Always the measure the diameter of...
