    Bait and Livewell

Around my area we are experiencing hot days some near 100 degrees, the lake surface temps are 85 degrees. Have had bad experiences with live well storage and the fish spoiling in summer heat. That is when I switched to ice down right away and haven't had any spoil since. If your in cold water...

Performance expectations for a smaller boat??

25 mph sounds about right, what do you mean, going 4 pitch lower ? Removing a couple hundred pounds or moving it on a small boat can make a big difference !! Is the cav plate about level with the bottom of the hull ? Use a straight edge to check.

    Bait and Livewell

Those that compete where fish must be kept alive to be counted are fans of livewells. When my brother moved to Florida and became an ocean fisherman, he to used the live well all the time, but mostly for bailt. Those that were into fresh fish eating always used ice. Here on the great lakes...

Found some rocks with my prop...

Coming from Amazon.....who knows who made that prop and where it came from ? Over 65% of items from Amazon, never touched an Amazon facility. Most item are shipped from the actual supplier using Amazon boxes and advertising for a commision.

Found some rocks with my prop...

At today's prices, it doesn't pay to have an aluminum prop repaired. I was digging thru some old papers a while back and stumbled across some old receipts from back in the eighties. Had an aluminum prop repaired for 65 bucks and a new replacement was about 150 for a cupped edge performance...

    Advice please - 1995 Merc 60 hp / Tilt-trim issues

What is the actual voltage on your battery, just charged means nothing. If the battery is ilder, have it load tested, usually free at most auto stores. Then check connections for corrosion....for some reason electrical connections seem to corrode faster when not used. Make all connections...

What is considered correct float height , OX 66

Service manual should give you those dimensions, if you don't have one, time to get one if your doing your own work. Factory manuals are totally valuable and well worth the cost.

looking for some info/history on this "Legend/Crestliner"

Is it glass or aluminum hull ? 35 years is nothing on an aluminum hull if maintained, but a glass hull is usually rotted and needs serious work unless rebuilt recently. Aluminum boats hold value much better over the long haul where glasses become money pits after about 25 years or so. I live...
