Broken head bolt. Evinrude 150 E150EXERV.

The welded nut option works well. The heat from welding helps loosen it up as well. If that fails put the head back on find a section of tubbing that fits the bolt hole in the head perfectly then a drill bit that fits the tubbing perfectly and that will get you a perfectly centered hole then...

    Carburetor tuning on muffs

Yes you can. It will get you close but when you have back pressure on the exhaust while in the water and in gear it will change things a bit and that the best time to dial in the fine tuning.

1973 25 Hp. Johnson Running Rough

Lapping the flywheel along with proper toque ie not an impact gun ensures a locking tapper. The key is only there to locate the timing. The tappers drive the flywheel. Lapping compound commonly known as valve grinding compound is used to lap the flywheel to the crank so they mate and lock...

    1999 Johnson 35hp 3 cylinder

That would be a good place to start then. It’s really the first step to a new to you motor even if your told by the seller that it was done. Unless there is proof of that it’s always worth taking a look.

    CROSSFLOW PERFORMANCE ?'s

I’m going out on a limb here and wondering if you had a couple things happen at the same time. Just a thought but maybe while doing the abnormal maneuvers you upset some trash in the fuel tank and possibly picked up a bit of water for a moment causing the loss of power but only enough to cause...

Evinrude 9.5 how long until thermostat opens

Yep or even like your self. If you get cold you put on a jacket if hot you take it off to keep yourself at the optimum temp for best performance. 😂

Evinrude 35hp +/-1980 missfire at higher rpm (lower cylinder)?

I’m assuming you have this motor back together as you said it’s running better. Did you reuse the head gasket or replace it? Some will disagree but in my eyes head gaskets are a once an done gasket. Once they are compressed they won’t seal properly again.

Evinrude 9.5 how long until thermostat opens

What makes you think it’s not opening? Is it not pumping water or you just think its hot? It should still pump even before t-stat opens

Evinrude 35hp +/-1980 missfire at higher rpm (lower cylinder)?

TT is short for tell tail. Did you do a link and sync went you put her back together? Have you looking into the possibility of losing spark in one cylinder while under way? You can check for that with a timing light hooked up if you have one handy.

1954 evinrude big twin electric 25 help

Questions is why we are all here. No need to be shy. As for the bushing groves. Some may say newer materials don’t require them. I say it’s one less step in the manufacturing process so it saves them money. As they say “They don’t make ‘‘em like they used to” As for your lock down sorry I...

    1993 4HP Johnson

I’m getting confused but that’s not hard to do either. In post #8 you said you had spark. Did I miss something here that caused you to lose spark?

    1993 4HP Johnson

Yea you do need more water. The screens are just for the pick up. The pumps are not self priming. The water level needs to be above the pump for it to work properly.

Put some fuel oil mix in a spray bottle or an old water bottle with a hole in the cap and squirt it into the carb. If she runs you will likely need to clean the carb. Keep us posted.

    1993 4HP Johnson

Go with 50:1 Do a water pump service when you do the lower oil change. If it sat with fuel in it you will likely need to clean the carb. But it’s possible it was stored correctly to just look over the fuel delivery system and check for leaks. If it all looks good see if she will run.
