    More testing on Sharrow prop...

If you buy one…you could likely report back on all that. I’d be keen to hear. Genuinely

    More testing on Sharrow prop...

Don’t think you’re getting what I’m saying here. The first test had the merc prop way way under propped so was limited literally. This test has the sharrow prop pitched to see exactly peak power rpms at 5500 and the other way up at 5900 rpm with less pitch than the sharrow. Do you understand...

Help with identifiing a part on a 350mpi horizon

Florida sounds good to me too. I was out this evening on my wee outboard cuddy boat. Up here on Loch Lomond Scotland. Snow on the hills already ! About the flushing…I’d suggest you fill rather than flush. Up to you though.

    More testing on Sharrow prop...

Read back what I said friend. The first test on the outboard boat with the 150 was on the limiter by a long long way with the merc prop they used. Worse than that…the same tester tested that very boat and engine not long before that test…with the same merc prop…but with 2 or even 3” more pitch...

    More testing on Sharrow prop...

I’d say I’m stating the exact opposite of being narrow minded. I would like a very wide minded test 😂. That’s all. I don’t bash tests that are like for like comparable or that mostly I’ve done in real life. I think some merc props are terrible things. Like the vengeance. I only ever comment or...

    More testing on Sharrow prop...

Oh…didn’t know it was available yet. So you have one already do you ? Love to hear real world info from an owner. I i totally respect everyone’s opinion on here to be fair. But would urge you to look at prop slip figures and tell me if both props on this boat…especially with a twin engine set...

I’ve certainly been aware of that happening chris. No doubt.

Help with identifiing a part on a 350mpi horizon

Ah. Very clever. Never noticed a system like that in person. Fair play.

    More testing on Sharrow prop...

Absolutely there is not a stock prop for any boat. There is a manufacturer middle of the road recommended prop or a installers middle of the road prop when fitting an engine. Really disappointed in boat test.com. Usually so good with their tests. But for the second time with this prop…an unfair...

    More testing on Sharrow prop...

And the big emphasis on idle speed efficiency increase. Suspect at best. Any prop of more pitch would surely do that.

496 Mag HO Slight Idle Surge

Was thinking that too AD. So many things can do this on an mpi. Temp sensor making her over fuel slightly. Leaking poorly sealed fuel filter drawing air. Iac or sticking throttle body. But most likely a fuel issue I’d think.

VP 5.7 WOT RPM question. Is 4100 RPM low?

I think there are some slight differences between a Gi and a merc mpi occasionally. The gxi is usually the direct comparison mostly. But if it is comparable, it’s either 4600-5000/5100/5200 I think on the mercs, depending on set up. Otherwise it’s likely lower an around 4800 max like the efi...

2002 Mercruiser 4.3L MPI Fuel Pump Style

What is noisy about it ? Presumably it’s not making a noise that might indicate losing its prime or drawing air ?

496 Mag HO Slight Idle Surge

Hi there. Under what conditions does she start surging? At idle ? Cold and warm ? Or just after a run and warm ?

Help with identifiing a part on a 350mpi horizon

What’s this air actuated system ? Haven’t heard of that ? Not sure this is technically the single point system to be honest. Looks the same as the system on a friends 350 mpi. There is a drain point on that unit pictures that does act communal to a few drain sources. But there are still a couple...

Spark Plug Replacement for Mercury 115 4 stroke EFI

Hi. These are widely available and used in lots of applications. There are also iridium versions too, that aren’t too much more expensive. I’ve changed mine twice a season since owning this engine a few years ago. Amazing engines, if you don’t know already.

    More testing on Sharrow prop...

Saw that earlier. But unfortunately once again..they’ve been selective with the set up and test. On the first test the other year…they compared it to an under propped and pitched merc prop, that was on the limiter at the tested rpms. And once again…with this test…sharrow selected the boat and...

No doubt AD. Often used over here. I prefer mph to be honest.
