    Oh. I might have another engine in mind BT…I thought it was the 3.7 4 pot. With the water pump down there that usually has the issue. Sure they have an indication when they starts losing their seal. Then the thing overheats and warps the head seal, boiling over the internal cooling

    Has this overheated previously and the reason you changed the impeller ? If it has, you may have melted and dislodged your flappers and have them stuck down the exhaust somewhere. Causing a restriction in water flow.

    I’d hazard a bet on either the crappy stator type charge system being to blame…or it has the usual cylinder head warping issue, showing up only when warm or under load. Obviously caused by the usual overheating problem that it’s undoubtedly had at least once in its life previously

    Trouble shooting low WOT RPM - timing on the 5.0OSi

    In that case, it’s likely a prop issue. My similar mpi has a rpm range between 4600-5000 and limits at about 5100ish. Things like fuel, load and trim can make the difference of a few hundred rpms.
