    Ok. I remember this one. I’m almost sure that the osi is an mpi type engine ? What are those spark plugs you have pictured in the other post ? Unless the osi isn’t the Mpi I think it is…pretty sure you should have iridium plugs in there ideally. Or at least platinum. They look like very normal...

    Hi. First off…I’d ask if you are using just the trim gauge to tell if you are fully trimmed down ? Second off…I’d ask if it’s possible that a full tank of fuel and passengers in the rear. If none of the above…go a little quicker

    Sounds like it’s ran lean, oil line came off or perished, or the power valve has dropped into the piston and done damage. Those would be the main reasons for this. Dead easy to rebuild thankfully. Get rid of that oil injection system and pre mix.

    Figure this out , I`m confused

    Those bolts have been stretched with a fair amount of tightening force. When a bolt of a certain tensile strength is over tightened and the threads manage to hold on…the bolt has no option but to stretch, break or shear threads. My thinking anyway !

    power trim on 2018 90hp mercury

    Hi. There is a known issue regarding exactly this. The shuttle valves in the trim unit are at fault. There are uprated valves now available. I got them sent out to me under warranty. There is a service bulletin released from mercury about it.

    Perfectly normal to see 50 gps from a fast hull like this and an mpi 4.3. As long as she’s well propped. As an example, Every regal 1900 with this engine I know of, will easily do 50 gps. One particular well propped one, with a 19” tempest plus…will touch 53 mph. A stingray should manage too...

    I think either your tacho isn’t right or your speedo pitot is restricted or similar. If you actually only doing that speed and actually those rpm…you have a prop far too wee.

    Propeller wont spin.

    Check it locks one way in reverse and forward. If it was the coupler you’d imagine the prop might be able to be turned when it should be locked. If it was the gearbox failing..you’d imagine you wouldn’t be able to get it locked both gears and into neutral the way you can ?? Not sure.

    This is a tragedy. What an engine these are. Just incredible things. Who in their right mind put a solas 4 blade on it ? That’s like sticking a set of Honda wheels on a Ferrari. Should be shot. Deserves a right good prop. If it’s a 4 blade that’s insisted on…at least get a good merc one. is...
