    1961 Johnson QD 22 10hp - chattering shift arm

    Check the shift connecter in the exhaust housing.----Notches on shift rods MUST line up with holes before bolts are put in.-----Next check adjustment at the shift lever.----If those are good take lower unit apart as clutch and forward gear dogs could be rounded off.

    Hydroelectric won’t shift into reverse

    Remove sparkplugs.----Find the wires that go into the lower unit.----Apply 12 volts to both green and blue.-----Turn flywheel with an 1-5/16" socket.----If you get reverse in just TWO turns there is nothing wrong in the gearcase.-----In my opinion these electric shift units are very good...

    The motor needs a good battery to crank over fast for starting.----The ignition system itself does not use 12 volts from the battery to make spark at the sparkplugs.

    It needs to be taken apart for inspection.--------If gears strip then bits of metal end up in the bearings.-----It is possible to rebuild these.----But you have to find a shop that might have parts.---After market parts is what I use.

    Those lower units are not robust in my opinion.----Gears often strip teeth !-----A unit from a 2 cylinder 40 / 48 / 50 model year 1993 and newer will fit.

    It will run to 6000 RPM on 4 of 6 cylinders so it proves nothing.----Does spark jump a gap of 3/8" or more on all leads ?-----Are all wires going to the correct coils ?----How did it run for you last season ?----A Johnson or Mercury ?-----Posted in Mercury forum.

    The opening of that nozzle is right in the center of the VENTURI.-----When air rushes through a venturi the pressure drops.-----Then atmospheric pressure acts on the fuel in the float chamber.-----The fuel is then metered into the airstream via a calibrated hole in the high speed jet.

    I would say you need to look at the fuel pump.----From a 1000 miles away I think there is a ruptured diaphragm.----Easy fix here.

    2004 225 oil injector issue

    Nope-----You have to take the identification ( co-efficient ) of each injector.----Then you have to match each one with the ECU so that correct amount of fuel is injected.----So yes you can replace just one.----It is just not as simple as installing a sparkplug !

    I clearly stated that there is no cylinder head and intended to tell you that piston can not come out the head area.

    Cause of this milky water

    Your 2 stroke motor continually changes it's own oil.----Runs with clean oil all the time.----Some oil and gas goes right through the motor an never does anything.----This is what you are seeing.----And it is common on 2 stroke outboards.-----Lower unit oil does not get near that...
