    Hydraulic Test Kit

My D3 dozer has some steering issues and need to find a hydraulic test kit which will work. I have two fittings which are STOR Boss fittings (7/16-20 and 9/16-18). Some of the kits found are 9000 psi others 8K psi. Currently have gauges for 400 and 2000 and the D3 does not use that high of...

    gimble housing is loose

If your talking about the studs and nut which hold the outdrive on the bell housing, then they should be good and tight using a 3/8 drive ratchet. The torque spec is 50 ft lbs. They should be self locking nuts (Nylock) There is also a gasket which goes between drive a bellows

350 mag mpi overheats only at idle

Assuming your pump housing was in good shape, I would look at item 2 the check valve, distribution drain housing, item 20 the Tee and item 9 the manifold. Something has increased a restriction in the main feeds so water is going in other directions and not so much in the main feed lines

    Installing a killswitch

Howdy To stop a 2 cycle OB motor the magneto needs to be grounded. The standard 6 pin ignition switch has 2 magneto connections. One goes to the magneto and the other goes to ground, To install a kill switch you just add another connection to the Mag wire between the switch.

    Trim Sender and Limit Questions

You can just bypass and disable the trim sender, or try to get it adjusted. The trim limit switch is on the port side. The up circuit uses the Blue/White wire. If the Blue/White is Jumped to the Purple/White then you can trim up from full down to full up. To adjust the limit you need to...

    Retune time MEFI Burn, AFR

A few years ago, my 502 MPI, MEFI-1, VST, 415HP and went to a 509 MPI, MEFI-3, cool fuel, 530HP. Since then I've increased oil supply lines, oil cooler, installed oil temp and water pressure gauges. Motor oil pressure has increased along with flow (AN-6 to AN-10 lines), yet the oil temp has...

    Wiring a 3-wire killswitch

As I see it, in short, your breaking the 12V after the gauges instead of before the gauges. So the kill switch will remove 12V to the motor but not the gauges. This is the only thing I don't understand. If the purple connects between the NO and COM there will be no 12V to the motor. It...

That is a lot of slop, your able to tilt the race, it should stay in place and only feel a slight drag. The manual link above in previous post and in the bottom of this one has great info to build the drive http://162.144.28.33/lib/mercruiser/manuals/mercruiser39.html#/282

    Wiring a 3-wire killswitch

I'm assuming your working on a Mercruiser and not an Outboard The kill switch breaks the connection of the purple wire. The purple wire powers everything, and the switch just breaks this connecction. The pic below shows how to bypass the kill switch

Bunk brackets to angle iron cross member

If welding is out of the pic, Maybe find some square tubing of similar size, then cut a piece a bit larger then needed to clamp U bolts. This way you could use traditional hardware.

I'm finding that pipe and its just installed leaving the lower holes open, but have your same concern. Looked thru the engine manual and drive manual and they both show the same thing. The V8 and other inline 4 and 6 cylinder also show others which cover the holes. Wonder if the first years had...
