    cleaning a carb?

    1972-85hp rude. I took apart the carbs and have been soaking for a couple of days. How long do i soak them? everyone keeps saying to clean the passages. i don/t really see any passages. I did make that tool and take out them idle things are what ever they were.

    1972-85hp rude Some one had a pic of a special screw driver to take out the needle valves on carbs. He even had a pic on how to make one. i could probaly do that but I can/t find the thread on it. How much does one cost?

    replacing impeller?

    1972-85hp rude. I want to replace impeller. The manual says it takes 675 lbs torque to take off the propeller nut is that right? Also is it a big job to change the impeller, How much disassembly do i have to do with the lower unit?

    Fuel pump problems?

    1972-85hp rude been having a problem getting a hard bulb. From reading my manual I see where it gets suction from the engine to operate. Anyway I took off that line and when I pump the bulb gas comes out of that outlet on the fuel pump. I do not believe it is sopposed to do that. Is it?

    Is soaking carbs enough?

    I do not know the history of this motor are when it was last started. I believe my carbs are gumed up from sitting, although they look real clean inside. However i notice the needle valve will not drop down on one of them right. I have a 1972- 85 hp rude. I would rather not buy a kit for them...
