    Hi all I have removed the carb from a 6hp Johnson (J6BACTA) ready to fit a carb kit thats on it's way but I cant remove the emulsifying tube as it looks damaged and won't move so 1: how do i remove it and 2: I have a old 7.5 carb could I remove the emulsifying tube from this to replace the 6hp...

    Hi all, I had my engine in the run tank today and noticed fuel comeing from the connector on the tank side, is it ok to swap both for a mercury connectors (I have a spare one's) Thanks slate

    6hp johnson restrictor plate ????

    I have had my carb off to clean it and there is a restrictor plate between the carb and inlet what would happen if I filed this plate out to the same size as the inlet, would it make any difference ??

    Hi all just got a rev counter for my 6hp johnson and it wont go over 4500/4600 is this correct, I use it on a 3meter sib with 22lt fuel tank and some fishing tackel and it seems slow I was woundering if a prop change might help this is the one at present

    just had one hell of a shock

    I went out yesterday useing my 6hp johnson model number:J6BACTA,on a 3meter sib when I got home I was flushing it and thought I would check it was running on both cylinders ,,,,,,pulled the lead of the bottom cylinder and got one hell of a shock,so what would cause this and how do i fix it

    Hi I'M running a 3meter sib and 6hp johnson I have just got I took the boat out today and it run really nice, but it is very slow, I also have a 4.5hp mercury and it seems faster that the 6hp in the boat is me 160lb a 25lt fuel tank half full and two rods and tackel, I tryed moveing the tank...

    Hi I have been offered a 9.8 mercury with a broken tiller arm (broke on the cowling area) would the 9.8hp fit into a 7.5hp I have without any mods and could I then keep the 7.5hp for spaers, they are bouth long shaft Thanks
