    gasket sealant question for 1958 5.5hp Johnson

    I replaced the water pump on this 1958 5.5hp johnson. In doing so I removed the motor. I am replacing the gasket that goes between the motor and exhaust housing. Should I put sealant on this? My repair manual does not mention if I should or not. Thanks, Gary
