Specs on your cordless?
Have not been able to find anything close to the capabilities of my hole shooter in cordless.

Much easier to just grab the Milwaukee hole shooter out of the drawer if I need something capable.

Normally the color of the lead would simply reverse the polarity, -60V instead of +60 volts
In this case, polarity matters since your only rectifying half the wave cycle to test.
Keep black lead on red
Bench testing starter performance is useless as a diagnostic tool.
Once the windings are proven to be good (growler) the unit must be load (amp) tested to determine condition
You either have a bad starter, battery and or battery cable
Have you load tested the battery?
