2000 Cruisers 2870 Check Engine light blinking but no codes?

In some older GM-based diagnostics, Code 12 can refer to a distributor signal interrupt, but on modern MerCruiser MPI systems with smart alarms, it is almost always related to the drive lube monitor

    I HATE AUTOMATIC BILGE PUMPS!

Have bilge pumps in bow and transom compartments. Both pumps on traditional (Rule) float switches controlled via a three way switch (on/off/auto) with an “active” light to let me know when either pump is active. I was religious about turning the switch off with the boat out of the water the...

No dipstick on 1989 era 3.0L?

The F150 has transmission temp and oil pressure gauges Found the Engineering Test Mode displays troubleshooting a battery issue. Didn’t know the truck had a BMS system. Certainly didn’t know I had access to most the CAN (sensor) data and DTCs The Mazda gives me both oil pressure and temp along...

No dipstick on 1989 era 3.0L?

Not if it’s done right. Been building equipment for an environment that makes the marine environment look like a clean room for longer than I can remember. Electrical component failures are few and far between. Most failures we are called into truobleshoot are customer induced. Bad power...

    R.I.P Chuck Norris

My dad always said you die when you stop moving. He made a point to get up and leave the house every morning. Either to met with his friends at the coffee shop or go to the YMCA to ride the exercise bike. He died “suddenly” (stroke) while watching TV with my younger brother. He was 86 years old.

    Gloves

If we're jigging, I like wool, half finger gloves. If we're trolling, I like my "convertible" mittens. Quick access to my fingers if needed, yet keeps my hands warm for the duration.

Had a pile of factory combos at one point. Got into rod building and replaced everything with custom, purpose built rods when I started fishing competitively. Took up reel collecting to populate the rods I built. Mostly, high end blanks with rare/limited edition/best in class reels. A big fan...

If you want to go with a budget system, you could get a MFD with built-in GPS then install a A/B box to switch the output of the common transducer to either one of your helm position. You would need -Two display mounts -Two power cables - A/B Switch box and transducer cables to each helm...

    Specs for external "shop" tachometer

I have one similar to the one posted. Use i use one similar to the one you posted to adjust idle on my small, two and four stroke engines. Came as a “wrap around” but added a battery clip to make it a “clamp-on”. Works well for the purpose. No complains for the price

DeWalt corded drill DW106 Type-2 keyless chuck, bits slipping out?

Back when drills where drills. Still have 0222-1 (3/8") and 1650-1 (1/2") Milwaukee Hole shooters that date back to my days (80's) as a metal fabricator. I've seen the 1650-1 throw more than a couple of guys off their feet locking up a drill bit hen breaking thru the other side of a piece of...

    Nobody fishing?

I had an Air Card for my laptop back In the Black Berry days. Just needed cell Service to be "in the office". One of the highlights of my career was the day the National Park Service extended cell coverage out to my favorite beach front location. Nothing like answering emails with sand under...
