Re: bye bye Boats and Guns???????
There is no doubt moose that there are people that carry guns for the exact reasons you mention. People also say the same about being a police officer, office manager, on and on. But it is a gross generalization. You obviously feel able to take care of yourself and dont need a firearm. Fine. Good for you. There are others in the country that cannot yet you begrudge and belittle and maybe would deny their right to self defense with firearms because life is not dangerous for you. Easy to say for a young man of full strength and confidence. Criminals don't target us much. Others of us think there is something to the constitutional right just as we defend your right to be as insulting as you can possibly muster. For example, NaughtyByNature likes to boat around at 100 mph hair straight back. That is dangerous to other people. Boating accidents involving speed kill a lot of innocent people but nobody here is talking about banning boats capable of going more than 40. Why shouldnt I vote for a ban of speed boats since I'll never even want one and in fact their very existance is dangerous to me? Because, Naughty's freedom translates to my freedom and I can minimize my risk by looking out for him. Why do you not see this when it comes to the firearm issue? Because you moralize that guns are bad, and have a bad purpose, and that only bad or inferior people would want to have one? Bill Mac26 never had to draw his firearm as a Game Warden. What if he didn't have one? Would someone have killed him somewhere down the line? His gun was good yet never used. You would deny a game warden or police officer the right to carry a gun because they are mean objects? Finally, regarding lions and lambs , that is separate from firearms. It's a state of mind which defines the protectors and self reliant from the protected. The more you succeed in converting the lions to lambs, the more precarious life and freedom will become for the lambs and few lions that remain. That is what the founding fathers knew, and what's at stake. There is no doubt about it, they were lions.
