i wont regale you with too much of the removal story, lets just say i've had to deal with week old poo slurry but this 4 year old **** was something that will haunt me for many years to come.

many hours spent adjusting and planning for what i want now and in the future. mrs thinks i just sat in the boat for days drinking beer....


I added the small front one attached to the windshield and the back one going down to the gunwale. The straps are just there for side to side stability while installing. I could have just used the straps that came with it for front and back stability but I really wanted more of a real top look. The new ones have quick release pins at the boat anchor point so I can fairly easily pull down for trailering. Plus this wan i can add a front and side curtains this fall. for cold weather fishing

the back attachment point. For those that WILL say something the set screw on the new part will be replaced by thru bolts once i'm comfortable with the final design, set up, get the curtains on, etc. Probably will replace with metal ones too.

it was alot more work than i would have thought it was going to be. Lots of planning and thinking (aka beer drinking) but in the end worth it. It is tall enough that i can stand at the helm and still have about 6" headroom

the replacement. Went with a Garelic (to match the kicker mount sitting in my garage going on at a later date)

some repair on the engine cover. Six screws and finsih washers to brace up. It has been used as a step in over the years and the bracing kinda broke free. That along with some aluminum angle installed will solve the problem. I'll take pics of that when i do it so it will make more sense. No pics, not exciting enough

Came in for a beer. Been studying the center rear rod holders. they would drain any water square on to the distributor cap.

Found some old house flashing that we replaced after a storm; enough to deflect any water to the back (transom) and over the steering stuff.

Havent decided if i really want to do anything over the engine.

I decided to pull the head enclosure. Got one wall and a door out was working on the back wall and closet (all one piece) when the storms popped up (they are running backward FROM the northeast)

i think the closet and back wall will come out. THat's next weeks project I'm home AC is travelling.


THen the remaining clean out and new headliner will be MUCH easier.
